Mr. O's The Dog Training Place Reviews (11)

Bad businessman
I contracted Mr O to train my German Sheppard. The first date we agreed on, he was a no show, claimed he was in an accident. He agreed to meet the very next week. He showed up and said he could not take the dog that day as his arm was still sore from the auto accident. We made a date for the following week. That's the last time we heard of have spoken to him. He has ignored all calls and emails. I filed a complaint with the state AG and have heard nothing from them. I also filed a complaint with the BBB and again, nothing. I believe this man is just scamming people for the money. He has cashed my check of $800 and provided zero training.

ID ***This is in response to Mr**s reply to my Revdex.com complaint filing. He was correct in the date correction: it was December 20, 2013. After I left my dog in his care, he received a call that his son had been in an accident and he called me to come pick up my dog. I immediately turned back around & went to get my dog. He had worked briefly with my dog on the heel command & did briefly show me what he had worked on. But his mind was not on the training and I fully understood that. He did tell me he would contact me after the holidays to reschedule. That never happened. He never left any messages of any kind. I called him to reschedule and he never returned my calls.Though he has a 'no refund policy' my situation is out of the norm & I expected more from him in that respect. I do not want another day of training, as I wanted my dog trained while he was still a puppy. He is now 3/and set in his ways. I am seeking a refund of the full $dollars. These are my terms and I expect they will be honored because of this unique situation.*** ***

I would like to first of all mention the discrepancy about the drop off date, *** didn't drop off her dog on December 21st, like stated , it was December 20th which was the date on her training agreementAlso, I would like to mention the timeline of ***'s statement, *** did
drop her dog off at am I immediately started to train her, then at 11:am I called to inform her that my best friend was in a terrible car accident and I wasn't aware of his condition expect only he was in a coma and if she would be so kind to come pick up her dog so I could go to the hospitalWhen *** arrived her dog was trained to walk in a heel command and on a loose leash and even though I was extremely concerned about my friend's condition, I took the time to show her how to work with her dog so she would be able to control the dog's behavior until I could reschedule her training, I also video taped her training session she could have something to refer toThe approximate time of her training was about four hours which equals a 1/day of training.I did call *** to reschedule her training and left messages about dates available in which she returned the call and left messages stating those dates wouldn’t work for her schedule and would call back with other dates that would work for her scheduleI never received any other calls to confirm any other dates or any letter.l am very sorry for the any frustration or inconveniences this may have caused Since I have no refund policy that is stated in the one day training agreement that *** had signed I would be more than happy to give her another day of training for free God Bless, Mr*

+1

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, I don't understand how him sending a copy of his flyer is an answer However, soon after filing the complaint, I did receive a check in the amount of $which satisfied the repayment of our deposit made in April

This is the response to ***'s reply:I believe *** still hasthe time line of the amount of training that I did with her dogThere was at least hours of training time spent with her dogHer dog was doing the heel command very wellThe heel command is one of the most important command's in M r**s training programThe heel command is used to enforce the respectability level of the dog’s training. When *** came to pick up her dog I made sure that her dog was heeling properly for herHer dog was a 1/year oldHer dog was a Weimerainer Lab mixand the Weimerainer breed is a fast maturing dog so it was practically out of the puppy stage. In my one day comprehensive program I train dogs from ages weeks to years, I train a lot of dogs that are in the 2-year old rangeThe training works extremely well, and I guaruntee the training for the rest of the dog's life!So my offer still stands to give *** a free day of training for herdogi would include a foot harness leather leash worth $and $video of her dog’s tra ining for free

This is the response to [redacted]'s reply:I believe [redacted] still hasthe time line of the amount of training that I did with her dog. There was at least 3 hours of training time spent with her dog. Her dog was doing the heel command very well. The heel command is one of the most important command's in M r. **s training program. The heel command is used to enforce the respectability level of the dog’s training. When [redacted] came to pick up her dog I made sure that her dog was heeling properly for her. Her dog was a 2 1/2 year old. Her dog was a Weimerainer Lab mixand the Weimerainer breed is a fast maturing dog so it was practically out of the puppy stage. In my one day comprehensive program I train dogs from ages 12 weeks to 12 years, I train a lot of dogs that are in the 2-4 year old range. The training works extremely well, and I guaruntee the training for the rest of the dog's life!So my offer still stands to give [redacted] a free day of training for herdog. I would include a 6 foot harness leather leash worth $35.00 and 3 $35.00 video of her dog’s tra ining for free.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted],  I don't understand how him sending a copy of his flyer is an answer.  However, soon after filing the complaint, I did receive a check in the amount of $150.00 which satisfied the repayment of our deposit made in April 2015.

Review: In October 2013, I contracted with Mr. [redacted] of The Dog Training Place for training for my 1 year old dog. At that time, I paid the contracted amount of $700. It was for an all day training session. I was to drop my dog off at 10:00am & pick him up at 6:00pm. On the appointed day, December 21, 2013, I dropped off my dog at 10:00am. I then left and returned to work. I no sooner arrived at work than I received a phone call to pick up my dog as Mr. [redacted] had a medical emergency. I was very understanding and drove the 42 miles to retrieve my dog. Mr. [redacted] said he would call in January to set another training date. No call was ever received. After waiting several weeks, I left a message for Mr. ** When I got no response from him, I sent a letter requesting either a reschedule or a refund of the $700. As of this date, I have neither heard from him or received the refund.Desired Settlement: Since so much time has passed, I am seeking an immediate refund of the full amount paid.

Review: Contracted with Mr. O[redacted] April 22, 2015 for his One Day Training Service which would be held June 10, 2015. The contract stated that we would have to send him payment within 3 days to hold our date. We sent him a check for $800.00 which was promptly cashed.

June 10, 2015 we met Mr. O[redacted] at his location He instructed us to muzzle our dog and took him for about a 15 minute evaluation. After this evaluation he brought the dog back to us, leaned over the dog and stared directly into his eyes. The dog reacted aggressively and he handed us back the leash and stated that he could not make a connection with the dog and couldn't train him in a one day class. He then stated that we could have a refund or he would take the dog into his residence program at a different location for a week. We stated that we would think about it and get back to him. After several conversations with Mr. O[redacted] we decided to try the one week program, we asked for the address the dog would be kept and for the opportunity to visit the location prior to committing. We set a tentative date of August 26, 2015. On or around August 24, 2015 we had not heard from Mr. O[redacted] regarding the upcoming training and became concerned. I left a message on his answering machine expressing my concerns and my desire to cancel and request a refund for the services he stated he could not provide.

In early September 2015 I received a call from Mr. O[redacted], in it he stated that his son had been in a serious car accident, which seems to be a common theme based on previous complaints to your office, he stated that he wanted to reschedule our training. I stated to him that at this point I would just like a refund.

Mr. O[redacted] stated that it would be a financial hardship for him to refund us the full $800.00 and asked if I would accept payments. Against my better judgement, I agreed.

The following payments have been received from The Dog Training Place.

10-3-2015 $250.00

11-23-2015 $200.00

12-23-2015 $200.00

_________

$650.00

leaving a $150.00 balance due.

I have received no further payments from Mr. O[redacted],

My last phone call from him was about 2 weeks ago, he stated that he would send us the remaining $150.00 within a few days, during the message he then stated that he would pay us the remaining balance after we sent him a receipt. All of the payments I have received have been drawn on Mr. O's business checking account and should suffice as a receipt on their own merits. My wife did leave a message for him stating that we would send him a paid receipt when the obligation was paid.Desired Settlement: Mr. O[redacted] has had my deposit for close to a year now. Business practices would suggest that you don't spend your deposits prior to providing the service that they have paid for. As I have stated to Mr. Orsino several times, all I want is my remaining $150.00 hat I paid to him in a timely manner for a service he was unable to perform.t
