Mr. P's DJ Service Reviews (%countItem)

I notified Mr P's DJ service that my wedding was cancelled and requested a refund. There was never a contract signed or even presented, nor was there mention of any deposit amount/percentage that could be potentially withheld in the event of cancellation, so I requested full refund. Adam P, through several email correspondences stated that wouldn't happen and tried to use the support of 'other business friend's contracts state ____', but I reminded him yet again that we did not have a contract, all we had was request to book a date and payment in full. It is not my fault he failed as a business owner to have a contract to protect him against such requests. I found his responses to lack both professionalism and integrity. I kept copies of any and all correspondence we have had from date of hire to present.

Customer booked our services back in mid 2019. Deposit was submitted as non refundable. We are securing a date and lose business as customers are turned away. She feels she is unlike other customers and rules don't apply to her. She was informed clearly of our policies in the presence of 3 other managers and gave her deposit, willingly. People cannot cancel an event that has been secured with a deposit and expect a refund. The months we held her date secured we lost several other clients. Her event was based upon a business friendship we have with another customer and her event was greatly discounted.

She is a person that believes rules do not apply to her and is an "entitled" unlike other customers. I have witnesses willing to sign affidavits to this regarding her attitude and acceptance of our policy.

The attached letter from the vendor was never sent to me. I would be willing to bet it was fabricated only upon receiving this complaint. Even if it wasn't, there is absolutely no acknowledgement from me or a signature to bind it. This is the first I have ever seen it, and information in it, the location of my wedding, is not even correct. It was thrown together to attempt to support his defense. I have copies of all the texts and emails between us and never once was there any type of contract or even information given in regards to payments, cancellations, etc. we spoke once on the phone and then Adam requested payment via *** and I responded on that.

I fully accepted the loss I had to take with other vendors and did not even attempt to question them because they were legitimate businesses with whom I received and signed a contract. Their terms were very clear and I agreed to them. The only reason I have pursued this to the extent I have is because of the unprofessional way in which this particular vendor conducted his business. I know for a fact that the date I cancelled for has already been booked and paid for, so there really is no business lost here for Mr. P's DJ service.

I stand by my complaint and I will continue to pursue my full refund.

As promised we will continue the process with you. We stand stand with our policy as *** agreed to when submitting her payment. Our system is very Complete. *** agreed to our contract after speaking verbally over the telephone about her event. She submitted payment confirming her acceptance of all policies. She is entitled to her remaining balance, $299.99 will be refunded on or before 3/22/2020. We stand on our policy of no deposit money will be refunded.

Lastly, just to reaffirm she wants everyone to believe that a person, herself, after showing us clearly how hard she is willing to fight to regain money, just threw $600.00 at my business without knowledge of any of our policy or services that would be rendered for that value. She just was like, "Here is some money do what you want, and see you there ". It's ridiculous that you the Revdex.com could even begin to entertain this. You aren't driving a turnip truck and I know you weren't born yesterday. This is a waste of time. I spoke to you on the phone. I know you see that she's a liar and cheat, close this out she's not willing to work with anyone. I'm worried about this world. This is crazy.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The problem is that the system IS NOT "very complete". It's convenient now to say I agreed, but in reality there was no conversation about deposits, cancellation, or any other policies, nor is there anything concrete to say I did agree to "your terms". I was given a total amount, which was at a discount, no dispute there, but it was a payment request from Adam via *** with no attached contract or explanation of policies. I received an email with a bridal packet, but again, no policies. The single phone conversation was an introduction and revolved around the operations of the day of event explaining the multiple set ups to create a better flow in the day, etc. I don't disagree that I could have requested a contract, but it's also not my responsibility to protect the vendor against cancellation and refunds. I, too, can provide copies of every text and email between us, but it's irrelevant at this point because the owner would rather argue he said/she said. It's just bad business. This matter could have been settled and never spoken of again if my refund was returned, but instead the owner wants to play games, so here we are and here we will stay until it is returned to me. There is no lying or cheating taking place on any end but theirs. He may call me entitled, and he would be correct in this case because without a signed contract, I am entitled to what is mine and his poor business planning can take the loss. I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for it.
