Review: Called Mr. Rooter for a leaking toilet. The technician came to my home and told me the problem and the cost. I was taken aback at the cost ($523.00), so I asked him if it was a tough job and did he have to be there a while, he replied yes. Figuring at that price he probably had a couple of hours work. That man was in my home for 30 MINUTES. I do not mind paying for anything, but do not like to be ripped off. I tried to call them on many occasions to inquire why such a high cost with no parts and just about all labor and they will not return my call. I have been told by numerous people, that I was most definitely taken advantage of. After being told that, I called 3 different plumbers in my area, and read the description of products and services to them and all three gave me prices of $225, $230 and $275. Well I guess I certainly was taken advantage of. I find it hard to believe that businesses are able to do this to people and get away with it. Do we not have any laws that businesses have to abide by when it comes to fair practice? The technician told me it was going to be a TOUGH job and he was going to be there a while so I agreed to the $523.00. It was NOT a tough job and he was only there for 30 MINUTES. My brother in law is a plumber (who was not available at the time) and he said that man saw a woman and just took complete advantage.Desired Settlement: I would like to be partially re-imbursed. At least be re-imbursed $200.00. All three of the other plumbers I called were under $300.00. I don't mind paying him $323.00, but not $523.00. Thank you for your time in this matter.
