My Tenant call MrRooter on 1/6/because there is a clog in the drainThey charged renter $for the unclog after a week, it got clog againOn 1/11/18, they come back again and say sewer line has bellied and give me an estimates of $to fix it However, there is no measurement given, no marking the site, no mapping out where the pipes areI keep asking for the plumber to give me the details but he just say the whole line under the drive way He doesn't even know where everything is and he just want to dig up and charge me for it Needless to say any request for him to make good on tell me where exactly is the issue is told just the line under the driveway He refuse to give specifically exactly whereThis type of force sale to replace the whole thing instead of just where it is broken is fraud to me Trying
Our kitchen & laundry room stopped draining during on 4/5/ We did not find out until we got home at 4pm My husband immediately called MrRand they said they would "send someone out immediately" At 6pm and we had not heard or seen them At approx6:30pm, they tech arrived and when we explained what was taking place, the 1st thing he said was "well if I rooter it out like you want, since it is POSSIBLY grease, it will just collapse back in You should go with the "Hydra-wash" The cost will be 3+ times more ($1,300) He didn't even inspect it or try anything else until we'd decide We called for an emergency and he was trying to sell us this right off the bat! BTW, if we went for it, it will have to be the next day since he "doesn't have the machine with him"! We explained that we have a very small home (bed, 1bath) and can't afford anything like that He kept pushing us to do this instead of trying to clear out the clog I then told him that due to the age of the house, there is no clean-out except at the stack on the roof He insisted he could do it at the sink by taking the p-trap off I explained to him that I lived her for years and it won't work, but who am I vsa plumber? So an hour plus later, he said he can't do it and have to go to the roof By this time it's gotten dark Every time I have ever had someone do this, they have used the water also, but he was doing this dry, but again not for me to say since I'm not a professional After hearing the rooter on the roof, dry clanging against the pipes, he comes down and says that he can't get itAnd we need to get the hydra-wash! And that this will be $350! Our bank is changing so all we had on us was cash...so we paid the money just to get him out of the house Turns out, we got a good plumber to come in (I work for a commercial construction mgmt co & thankfully I was given the name of Aqua Plumbing that came out) and not only did they locate the clog, they also used WATER to help get it cleared out out AND added an extra clean-out for us They said thankfully that we did NOT get the hydra-wash because it would have made our older pipes collapse and we would have been looking at thousands to fix it!! All they want to do is come in and sell!
