Call ANYONE else!
Call at your own risk! Their only concern is collecting $$$ from you. I am beyond disappointed with this group and their extremely poor communication skills. I am also extremely disappointed in myself for not cutting ties with this group sooner. I am simply sharing our story with the hopes no one else has to deal with the same thing we had to deal with. Recently we DROPPED this company for various reasons. We began our association with Mr. Sparky (electric), Ben Franklin (plumbing), and One Hour (heating and air) in 2020.  At that time we signed up for their club membership which puts members at the front of the line for any house call. Their techs for very personable and professional people (for the most part).  At the beginning, their service techs were very good at their respective jobs.  But over the last couple years service has declined dramatically. I would like to share of couple of examples of WHY we no longer will deal with this group. Early on we were sold some electrical air filters.  At the time we had 3 dogs and 2 cats.  We were told this upgraded air filters would help eliminate a myriad of impurities in the air in our home (mainly the pet dander). Within a week after the install we noticed one (of the two) were getting any electricity.  Tech came out and informed us they had been installed incorrectly.   At that time we were told some work would need to be done on our furnace.  Fine.  Within a day or two we noticed a hot/burning odor. Tech came out and showed us how the instruction manual for our new air filters was left INSIDE our furnace.  Seriously? Next up is the plumbing leg of this 3-headed monster... We asked them to install a recirculating pump for us. After quoting us a price we had the pump installed.  After 4/5 trips to our home over an 11-12 month period they finally got the pump to work correctly.   This spring they were out to service our AC.  Basic stuff; right? Next thing we know their tech in training had shut down 3/4 of our home when he made a huge mistake with the electrical to the AC unit. For the next four hours we were without power.  The lead tech was on the phone for at least two of the three hours trying to restore power. Did the company call and apologize for the inconvenience?  No. After the tornado of 2020 we inquired about a whole home generator. Tech told us it could be done and shared the cost.   We opted for the portable whole home generator.  And, yes, it was quite expensive. We were told the company would come out yearly to service/repair the generator as part of our club membership.  Outstanding. Within the last couple of months our expensive generator stopped working.  I take it out about once every 2-3 months and let it run for 5 minutes or so (per their recommendation).    Unfortunately, I couldn't get it started.  It supposedly had been serviced not too long ago.  Anyway, I call and tech comes out. Tech diagnosed the problem and ordered a part.  He was back out the following week with the part.  No luck.  Unit still won't start. Tech orders another part and different tech comes out the following week.  I was not surprised when I was told, "Office ordered the wrong part." OK.  Now what. After a month of this I decided to call the gentleman who had installed the generator who is no longer with the company.   Sure enough, our generator is up and running within minutes! After all the time and $$$ we have invested in this company, you would think I could get a return call from someone in management.  NOPE. Their customer service is the absolute worst! The last straw was the ordeal with our generator.  On two occasions I called in and requested to speak with a manager.  No manager response. Over these past 4-5 years, the turnover at this company has been monumental.  This should've have told me more than enough.

Our technician was wonderful Arrived when promised, made recommendations but wasn't pushy about selling additional services, and was polite and friendly Thank you so much - will recommend and use again

Electrician was well informed of his trade Was well mannered, he called a half hour before he arrived, as they told me he would, informed me of the problem and what it would take to resolve it The electrical problem was resolved

The Mister Sparky electrician who did our estimate also did the repair work on our home at our request He did an excellent estimate of the work we needed done, did the work very professionally and personably, and finished the job within the estimate This involved pulling new cable through an underground conduit and routing part of the same cable through a Charleston crawl space - it was no simple job If I was rating this electrician I would rate him of 10, but the company gets an of rating because of its extremely poor office support, i.e., its answering service I've already told the company's manager and the electrician who made the repairs that its answering service is in need of substantial improvement

He went above and beyond to stay late on a Friday, when he could have easily booked me an appointment for another day. Today, 4 April 2016, Mister Sparky Electric of Charleston, SC sent their service pro Technician, Eric B[redacted], to our home to install a ceiling light and fan in our main bedroom, to do an annual safety check of our electrical system and fire warning system. Eric has been to our home several times over the past 12 years and has always been very polite, kind, professional, empathetic, well dressed, knowledgeable, and skilled. He wore his shoe covers, kept us informed of exactly what he was going to do and how much it would cost, and explained how long the work would take and why it needed to be done. He found two faulty fire/smoke detectors, discover our hot tub had no etf/proper grounding and no proper circuit breaker protection. He did the work in record time and thanked us for calling his company an him to do this work. We always use Mr. Sparky for all of our electrical work! Eric is a great asset to his company and all of their employees are always so helpful and thoughtful too. I recommend Mr. Sparky of Charleston to everyone!!!
