I spoke with the manager and he assures me that he will submit my estimates to their insurance company ***) and get back to me on when I should receive reimbursement. I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me with reference to complaint ID ***

We received the complaint from *** *** from e-mail late yesterdayWe have insurance and we will enter this claim today and the customer will be taken care offIf their are any questions, Please ask

The sprayed tub looked ok at first but the worker did a terrible job on the caulking which was lumpy and sprayed over. When I asked him to fix the caulking he said "you do it". The tub surface now looks bad too. Use another company ! Or get a bathfitter which I am going to get.

we never had a compliant like this in all the years we have doing business. we have spoke to the customer and came up witha figure. We have sent the customer a check and it is completed.

I am rejecting this response because:
I was told this was a stone floor that would last forever.  When I insisted I get something in writing they gave me the owners signature on a care sheet for a bath tub.  When the General Manager came back to touch up the peeling paint I questioned why there was not a care sheet and guarantee for the floor restoration.  He ([redacted]) told me they do not guarantee the floor.   I crossed out the word tub and told him I wrote in garage floor.  I will fax you what they gave me.  They are falsely selling these floor restorations as stone floors when all they are doing is painting the floor.  Their samples of the floors are about an eighth of an inch thick.  They also had before and after pictures of floors they restored.  My complaint is I did not get a stone floor, maintenance free and even $1300.00 is way overpriced.  Also, the owner of the business is 80 years old and may not be in business next year.  And even if they did the floor over, they would have to do it next year as it is too cold.  Even then, if it peeled in 10 days I can assure you it will peel again.  I offered to split the difference with them and we both cut our losses.

Review: I hired Mr. Ugly to restore our garage floor. Their sales pitch was the floor would last forever because it was a stone floor. They showed me before and after pictures of tile floors they had restored in kitchens, bathrooms, and garages. They also had actual samples that were about 1/8 of an inch thick. They said the floor would last forever, no maintenance and if something spilled just wipe it up. They did the floor in approximately 3 hours. They were to clean the floor thoroughly and remove all of the old paint. They did not remove all of the existing paint and decided they did not have to. The price was $2600.00. 10 days later the floor started to peel. I called Mr. Ugly and the man came out to touch it up and said "he should have remove all of the existing paint and he must have had his stupid hat on that day". The spots where he touched up look like dark oil spots. I also complained when he was here that the sample (I asked him to take one out and lay it on the floor where there was damage) was supposed to cover the damage. At this visit I asked him why they had given me paperwork on how to care for a bath tub and not the floor. He then told me there is not guarantee on the floor. I questioned why he told me it was going to restore the floor, that it was made of stone and now I see it is only paint with some stone chips. The sample he said is a painted tile. I asked for half of my money back and they refused. They are falsely advertising and even at $1300.00 the job was way overpriced. I am extremely dissatisfied. I am willing to split the difference with them but they don't want to hear it.Desired Settlement: Refund of $1300.00 or I will take them to small claims court and try to get a full refund. I also don't want other people to be ripped off by this company. If you google Mr. Ugly you can see many bad reviews and get a sense for the type of shoddy unethical business they are running

Response:

The customer was told the job is $15.00 a sq ft. The job was cut in half to give a very good deal. The stone product have never been a problem for us. Thecustomer is asking for $1300 back, which will not cover the stone product or the 2 men that spent all day at the customers house. The reason the customeris asking $1300 back, their new car backed into something and they want to get it fixed on us. We told the customer if the floor peels over the winter we will redothe hole floor for free. We gave the customer a life long guarantee for the price.

Response:

We did not just paint the floor. It is a stone product that takes a special spray gun to put it down. We have done many jobs that have never failed. The paint on the customers garage floor before was peeling before we spray painted. If we redo the floor we have to strip all the customers paint off the floor before we respray.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:I asked for half of the $2600.00 because this floor was supposed to be no maintenance and last forever. He only offered me $750.00. All this is is paint, which is what was on the floor initially. The floor is now peeling in two other areas and the floor is only 2 months old. The General Manager took responsibility and said he should have removed all of the old paint. Again, I paid for a STONE floor and this was only paint with chips. The samples they show are misleading at best. I am going to take him to small claims court because we are out $1950.00 and the floor did not even last 2 months. This company is as crooked as they come. There are many complaints online when you google Mr. Ugly, of people who are dissatisfied. One complaint gave him a rating of 1 and said only because there was not 0.

Rita Martino

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I originally got Mr. Ugly to reglaze my shower stall on 11/23/13. In January, 2015, I noticed there was a large area that was peeling away. Recalling that they had a 10-year warranty, I called them to ask for a repair. After a few calls and some hesitation on their part, they agreed to send out a technician to make the necessary repair, which he did on 2/16/15. Less than a month later, the shower floor was blistering and peeling away. I called Mr. Ugly and they sent over another technician on Thursday, 4/2/15. This technician explained to me that the original paint mixture was wrong, the application of the product was faulty, and that he would have to completely sand down the shower and start from scratch. He brought upstairs two very large and heavy tool boxes and placed them on my hardwood floor, but did not have drop clothes or other protection for the toolboxes or the ensuing paint job. He applied whatever chemicals were necessary and painted the stall, which took approximately 7.5 hours. Upon completion of the job when he had already left and I was cleaning up, I noticed there were three small but deep gouges in my wood floor where he put his toolboxes. In addition, my brand new bushed nickel shower faucet which I just installed two weeks prior was not properly sealed to protect against whatever chemicals he was applying and they seeped onto it, thereby resulting in blotches on the faucet where the finish was taken off. I immediately tried to call when I discovered the damages to both the floor and the faucet, but Mr. Ugly was closed for the day. I called again the following day, 4/3, and spoke with [redacted] who told me to take pictures of the damaged property and email them along with estimates for any repairs. I did as she instructed and tried following up with a phone call, but they are not answering me. I left a voicemail advising them that I would take them to small claims court if I do not hear from them within three business days.Desired Settlement: I would like them to pay for the repairs as outlined in the estimates that I provided them.
