Re: Complaint ID ***
Complaint regarding MrYard Landscape Supply located at Columbia RdOlmsted Falls, OH 44138-
Dear
***,
As the business owner, I will address all of the information that is included in the complaint received from Mr***Additionally, I will enclose other views of this same complaint along with pictures to support these views
The event that Mr*** refers to occurred on May 11th, at the 13:02:hourAll of this customer’s careless and reckless activity, as well as my verbal exchange with him, is viewable on our security camera system
Our business has clearly marked signage to indicate where the office is located, a lighted open sign for the office, visitor parking signs and even a sign that requests that all visitors report to the office prior to entering the building or yardAll of these signs were clearly ignored by Mr*** as he drove directly from our driveway area, past our signs and office, and entered our garage at approximately 15-miles per hour
At the time of this occurrence, I personally was standing at the East end of our building having a conversation with a representative from the ***Both of us were somewhat startled as Mr*** drove into our building, stopping short of possibly hitting us by about 6-feetMr*** then proceeded to lean over and speak from the driver’s side of the car, through the passenger window, to an employee of our sister companyThe employee that he was speaking to was receiving something out of the vending machine that is located in our garage and had nothing to do with MrYard at this time
When all of this happened, I proceeded to walk up to the front of the car and specifically said “Sir, you just can’t drive into our building as this is our place of business!” I then told him that he needed to back up his car and park in the visitor parking lot located at the front of the buildingHe asked if he could continue to drive forward through our building and go park; my answer was noI then asked if he did not see all the signs for the office and he proceeded to point to the inside wall of our building and said…….”Well that could be the office”As he proceeded to back up, I followed the car to make sure that he did not hit anything and guided him out of the buildingAs the car exited the building he loudly said to me that we should have a sign that says “Employees Only” posted on the front of our building, my answer was “whatever”Again I stated to him that he could park in the visitor parking area that is clearly marked and stated that I could not believe that he did not see the signage for our office (that is almost feet tall) that he drove pastI began walking back into our building when he turned his car around and pulled up next to a pitruckThey conversed with each other and then both left our property
To clarify Mr*** comment (“There is a drive through garage next to the office (which I had been in several times previously), that I pulled into to let them know what I was there for”.) is incorrect as the drive through garage is for our sister company, not MrYardThe garage is not and has never been used for placing an order, driving through, or any other purpose for MrYard customersAll of our bulk supplies are stored outdoors, and we have a totally separate garage area for storage of bagged supplies for MrYardAll customers are required to stop at our office firstIf they are picking up materials, they are specifically instructed to drive past, not through, the garage to the rear yard
The real issue here is that I was upset that someone would have no regard for the safety or well-being of our staff, by recklessly driving into our buildingSomeone easily could have been walking out of a door and been hit by his careless natureMr*** completely disregarded all posted signage which clearly marks where our office is located and that he was responsible for checking in at the office first
Lastly, Mr***’s actions were clearly wrong as he failed to read our posted signage, and he is turning this story around to protect his mistakeAdmittedly, I may be wrong for how I reacted, but all of us who were in the garage, along with my office staff, were startled and upset by the reckless way this man pulled into our building
In conclusion, we would ask that Mr*** remove his falsely stated information off of Google and Yelp, as he has erroneously posted the same information from this Revdex.com complaint on the internet to purposefully harm our business
Sincerely,
Robert FS***, CSP, OCNT
President

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Id like to address several of the claims made in MrS***s response. Firstly, the claim that I entered the garage recklessly and at a high rate of speedThat is not trueHis security equipment would quickly refute that claim, as my foot was not even on the accelerator while enteringMy speed was between 5-mphThe corroboration of his claim by his employees is understandable, as most employees would not make a claim counter to their employers wishes. If his claim were accurate, his exaggerated response to my vehicles presence would have been at least marginally understandable although still inappropriate. In regards to his signage; the office sign is to the left of the open garage door and contains an arrow pointing to the rightThe nearest door to the right of the sign is the garage doorThere was an employee standing in the garage watching my vehicle as I approached, which was the main reason I decided to pull in instead of parking outsideI had not previously pulled a vehicle inside the garage on prior visits, but had entered on foot on more than one occasion. I used the term Drive through garage to describe the type of building it is, having open doors at both ends; not to imply that it was akin to a drive-thru beverage store. I am not claiming that I was in the right by pulling in the garageMy issue is in how MrS*** addressed me with condescension and complete lack of respectThere is no signage saying that garage is off limits to customersNo "do not enter" signNo "employees only" signA sign in front saying guest parking does not reasonably imply that there are no customer vehicles allowed beyond that pointConversely, customer vehicles can and do go beyond that point to load materials. My prior phrasing that MrS*** approached my vehicle menacingly may not have been the best term to describe the incidentI at no time felt threatened or in danger, and he did not approach my driver side windowI did ask if it would be ok if I pulled through the remaining 6-ft of garage to park as it would have been safer than backing out the 20+ feet I had already pulled inIm not sure to his justification, but he would not allow me to drive forward the remaining few feetMy guess would be to assert his authorityWhich is supported by the pictures provided showing him walking unnecessarily close (mere inches at times) to my moving vehicleHis body language, tone of voice, and unnecessary proximity to my vehicle is what prompted the previous use of the word menacinglyAggressively would be a more apt term, and I will change my reviews online to reflect that. To avoid issues with future customers, clear signage restricting entry to employee only areas should be postedAlso, the use of tact and respect towards people is generally a good idea for customer retention as well.
Regards,

Re:
Complaint ID [redacted]Complaint
regarding Mr. Yard Landscape Supply located at 8997 Columbia Rd.
Olmsted Falls, OH 44138-2422
Dear
[redacted],
First
let me say that my staff, as well as our sister company’s staff,
confirmed and supported what happened with their un-biased views by
writing what they experienced during this event. At no time did I
encourage or discourage any thing that they have written. I
personally encourage our team to represent my companies in any way
they feel is necessary. I would recommend that you contact them in
order to verify their opinions of this complaint.
I
would like to state again that our business has clearly marked
signage to indicate where the office is located. Mr. [redacted] stated
that “the office sign is to the left of the open garage door and
contains an arrow pointing to the right. The nearest door to the
right of the sign is the garage door”. This statement is incorrect,
as the signage is approximately 15 feet in front of our office door
and 27 feet to the left of the office door. The garage door is
approximately 48 feet past the signage and approximately 35 feet past
our office entrance. All of this can be seen in the pictures that
were provided in my first response; however I have included pictures
again along with a tape measurement of the distance from the sign to
the garage door.
Mr.
[redacted]’s additional statement of “There was an employee standing
in the garage watching my vehicle as I approached, which was the main
reason I decided to pull in instead of parking outside.” is
correct. I was standing in the garage in plain sight as I was
speaking with a member of the [redacted]. Let me say again that neither one
of us could believe that this car was just driving into the building,
especially with the careless nature in which he did so. The other
employee that he referred to was Jim who was at the vending machine
and did not even know he was pulling in until the car came to a stop
next to the vending machine. As a matter of fact, Jim stated to me
that “he did not even know what was going on” until Mr. [redacted]
spoke to him through the passenger window. All of this can be seen
on the security camera still shots that were provided in my previous
communication. Please note the dates and times on the still shots are
very clear as to the positioning of the employee at the vending
machine, which proves that Jim could not see the vehicle approaching
as it drove into our building.
Mr.
[redacted] also stated that he has been inside of our garage on prior
visits. We as a team find this very hard to believe as we do not
allow anyone inside of our garage. In rare instances, customers may
enter the rear of the garage after placing their order in the office
in order to pick-up product that they have purchased. In such cases
customers always enter on foot and are always accompanied by one of
our team members. The day that Mr. [redacted] drove into our building was
convenient for him as the front garage door was open. The reason why
the door was open is because our CAT loader just exited the garage
from weighing stone on our internal scale and we had not had time to
close the door. Under normal circumstances, the door is closed. In
the 35+ years that I have been in business, I have never experienced
a person just drive into our building because they thought of it as a
“drive through”.
Again,
I was upset with the way Mr. [redacted] entered our garage with little to
no care. My surprise at his careless entry and my concern for my
employees’ safety led to my reaction. As I stated before, though
admittedly I may have been wrong with how I reacted, at no time did I
call him an “it” or use foul language when addressing Mr.
[redacted]. I was clearly 2-8 feet away from his car at all times and not
“mere inches at times” as he has stated.
Lastly,
I will say that Mr. [redacted] has changed some wording on his reviews,
however he has published a false statement and misrepresented what is
the truth. This has been and can be further damaging to my character
and business. He has publicly published defamation of my character.
I
personally have been in business for well over 35 years and own 6
different corporations and have never before had to deal with such a
problematic situation like this one. Our team is dedicated to our
clients while providing valuable solutions for their property. As the
Revdex.com, you should know that we have a clear record for all of our
business models, including the businesses that I have sold in the
past.
In
conclusion, Mr. [redacted] asks that clear signage should be posted and
that tact and respect should be used towards people. It is our belief
that we have clear signage and if you ask the thousands of clients
that we have served, I am sure you will find that we do our best to
satisfy everyone. Many of our customers come back year after year,
and many of our new customers are referred to us by existing
customers. We pride ourselves in providing excellent products and
customer service; unfortunately we have not done so in this case and
I will take blame for my behavior, but will not take blame for
someone’s disregard of proper business entry.
I
need to ask a question: If you go to Home Depot and you see the
garage door open on the front of the store because they have it open
to service a contractor………..do you drive into the store like a
drive through?
Again,
we would ask that Mr. [redacted] remove his falsely stated information off
of Google and Yelp, as he has erroneously posted the same information
from this Revdex.com complaint on the internet to purposefully libel and
harm our business.
Sincerely,
Robert
