Date: Thu, Apr 17:13:-0400From: [redacted] To: [redacted] Subject: [redacted] My name is [redacted] and I am writing this in response the allegations against me made by [redacted] ***I have been installing flooring for years in residential and commercial buildings for multiple companies as well as my own workI have been on multiple new construction sites where I installed hardwood the same exact way as I did for [redacted] ***I can supply multiple references to validate this, homeowners and buildersThe first part I would like to address is that the hardwood was delivered and brought into the house to acclimate, not stored in the garage prior to installThe [redacted] did notify me of a sheen issue with the floor a month after taking ownership of the home, to which we had multiple sales reps out to addressAt this point there was no indication of any cupping whatsoever in the floorOffers were made to rectify the problem by the manufacturer to which I don’t have all the information on, [redacted] dealt with the homeowner directThe first time I was made aware of any cupping in the floor was in July (original install date was in late feb)I hired an independent flooring inspector to come and try to determine what the issue was, But It is stated that the late onset of cupping (months) is a site related issue and not a acclimation issue with the hardwoodIt was never determined that the red rosin paper was the cause (I can supply the inspection report upon request)Also the subfloor used in all the houses at [redacted] is a moisture resistant osb (invoices can be supplied upon request)The manufacturer did offer to sand and refinish the entire first floor of the [redacted] house, which would have corrected all issues with the finish and cuppingThe [redacted] have ignored this offer and at this point the offer has expiredThis is not a builder or installer issue as stated in the inspection report, and I feel that I have done my part to absolve myself and the builder of any wrong doing
