Review: I was having issues with my new Dell laptop and called the 800 number. I was transferred to MS Service Group. They scared me by showing me a page with hundreds of errors and viruses and made me believe my computer was going to crash. They suggested I pay for a 3 year service contract. I did get into the website I was trying to and when I continued to have problems, I called my bank to stop payment on my credit card (too late). In order to dispute this $300 fee, I took my computer to Best Buy and they proceeded to fix the issue and told me that there were still issues that needed to be cleaned up. I called MS Service Group to get my money back and though they were going to give me $100 back, accounting said no and they proceeded to hang up on me. I feel like I was scammed and taken advantage of.Desired Settlement: I want nothing further to do with them and I want my money back.

Review: Our [redacted] Computer and Printer were not operating properly so I googled [redacted] Computers. MS Service Group was listed on the web site for [redacted] Computers. I called MS Service Group and talked with Mr. [redacted], a computer technician. I explained the problems we were having. He asked that I give him remote access so he could work on the issues. After working on the problems briefly, he indicated that our computer had been "hacked." He said our files had been corrupted back to 2009. Of course, I was alarmed. As I was talking with Mr. [redacted], my husband [redacted] arrived and continued the conversation with Mr. [redacted].My husband agreed to a contract with MS Service Group that held them accountable for correcting the problems we had with our computer and printer. Our computer locked up often, was very slow, and we wanted to know who "hacked" our files. Per the contract my husband signed on January 31, 2015, MS Service Group committed to (1) call us back and identify the hackers, (2) make certain the speed of our computer increased, (3) insure that our [redacted] did not continue to lock up often. My husband watched the technician work on our computer for five hours, supposedly tracing the hackers' path.I called our bank and credit card companies and told them we had been hacked and asked them to issue new cards. I had been sick for three months and this was a hardship for me to have to deal with this issue, particularly at this time.I called MS Service Group on February 17, 2015 to get an update and did not receive a satisfactory response. I was told I could request a refund if I like by sending an email. I did indeed send an email. I was given an email address that was incorrect. However, I sent the request to the email on the contract. I have heard nothing from MS Service Group since February 17th. MS Service Group charged us $299.98. MS Service Group did not comply with the contract my husband signed. They are fraudulent.Desired Settlement: I would like MS Service Group to have their license to operate as a business rescinded. They prey on senior citizens they believe to be gullible. Since MS Service Group was on the web site, we thought the company was reputable. We were wrong; we want a refund.I would like [redacted] Computers to be notified that MS Service Group is representing themselves as one of the support groups that provide technical support for their customers. This is certainly not good representation for [redacted] Computers.

Review: IN September I contacted them about help with a problem on my computer. There were errors that were on my computer. They took control of my computer to fix the problem. They charged me $59.99 and $99.99 but they did not fix the problem. I tried to get a refund and we have talked to them several times with no results. We had to take the computer to get it fixed locally. This was charged to my fathers Visa card.Desired Settlement: We request the refund of the full amount since we have received no benefit from their services.

Review: I purchased some Computer security software back in Nov 2014, It is called [redacted]. In 2016 I installed Windows 10 and they told me my system was not compatible with it. I then reverted back to windows 7 and my Computer works better than it did with [redacted]! And with a free program called [redacted]. I am curious to know if a refund is possible as I felt I was ripped off.Desired Settlement: I just would would like a refund for items I purchased. Here is an email I received then: Dear [redacted], authorize MS Service Group to charge my credit card ending in [redacted], in the amount of $299.98 for [redacted] Service and $459.96 for Five Year of [redacted]yI appreciate the help and support provided by MS Service Group Technicians.I understand that for subscription based plans, a full refund will be issued if MS Service Group technicians are unable to resolve the primary issue within the first 7 days of the subscription, and if there is one or more resolved issues, the subscription fees shall not be refundable. I confirm that there shall be no further charges on my credit card on file by MS Service Group. Best Regards, [redacted] - November 17th [redacted]

Review: On Monday 8/17/15 I googled [redacted] Support phone number to continue a ticket that I opened with them June 27th. I wrote down the wrong number [redacted]. When I called this number [redacted] answered with [redacted] support. I reminded [redacted], the technician about the original problem (it was hardware related) and that to fix it they had removed my copy of MS Office, I was calling today to have them help me re-load Office. He took control of my pc-affirmed that Office was not installed. He then told me that the original problem was hardware, he would not be able to help me, and that my pc was running very slowly for a new pc, that I had over 3,000 hackers using my pc. Since it was no longer a hardware problem, he would need to transfer me to their software department.I then spoke to [redacted] (job ID-Network Expert Technician) who also identified over 3,000 hackers using my pc. He explained that the hardware from [redacted] is covered under warranty, but the software is not, I would have to purchase software coverage to include virus protection and 24/7 help. I asked [redacted] if he worked for [redacted] as well, he assured me that he did.The information for services that I could purchase: ESET Security 5 layer protection, 5 years network security ONLINE-[redacted] Certified Technician Charges 24x7 support/365 Days All software issues Online Instant Support It will take 60/90 min to fix up the problem. Total charge 349.98. They did not want me to put my credit card information in at that time because of the 3,000 hackers. I told him all I wanted to do was get Office installed again, [redacted] assured me that he would take care of Office in a moment, he just wanted to show me a contract that would allow them to correct the breach in my pcs security. Since he needed to go on-line to re-load Office, it would not be safe unless they fixed the security first. Again I asked if I was talking to the [redacted] company I had a bad feeling, he assured me that he was with [redacted], showed me their secure website etc. I agreed that I would need security, their contract is still on my pc but the file cannot be opened, they have it locked some way-otherwise I would quote from it. [redacted] clicked, clicked, clicked, asked if that was the correct spelling of my name and clicked, clicked, clicked it is now saved to your desktop so that you can read it at your leisure- I cant read it, I cant open it, one page that was displayed long enough for me to read was, current issue will be corrected, pc will run better/faster after technician is complete. After 3 hours of watching them scan my pc for things that were too complicated to explain to me everything was great, Office was re-installed and my pc was safe-Per [redacted].This is when [redacted] said I needed to send a cheque to MS Service Group LLC, the spelling of the word check made warning bells ring, as well as the MS Service Group, I questioned why I would not be paying [redacted], his explanation was that they were the software division of [redacted] (hence MS)/[redacted]. I wrote down the address where the cheque should be sent, shut the pc off. 4 hours later I turn the pc back on, and nothing will load from the start up menu (you know all those pretty little boxes) to get to the internet you have to go to the desktop, pull up internet explorer, as a matter of fact, if you try to use the startup screens the pc disconnects from the network and you have to manually re-connect.I googled the phone number I called, [redacted], they are not [redacted]. I then found [redacted]s number, called them, asked if I had talked to them today-I had not. This MS Service Group LLC company employees repeatedly identified themselves as [redacted] employees to me. I did not give this company my bank information, or credit card information. But they had access to my pc for hours. They did not improve the function of my pc, they made it worse. I do not recommend this company, I felt they used fraudulent business tactics to gain access to my pc. They did not improve the functionality of my pc, they made it worse. I do not believe they have gotten anything from me yet. Out of concern I have called my financial institutions and had all passwords/access information changed. They have now tried to contact me by phone using number [redacted], I dont know if they have tried to contact me by email as I still cannot get into it because of them. I do not want this company to contact me again.Desired Settlement: They do not try to contact me again. They do not try to gain access to my pc again.

I am rejecting this response because:I did not go to MS Service Group LLC website (where I would have been able to read their disclaimer-and clearly have seen that they are not the [redacted] corporation), I was shown a website by Matthew the MS Service Group LLC employee that had [redacted] on it. I have just pulled up the MS Service Group LLC website, it is not the website that was shown to me, nor does is have the [redacted] logo on it.There was no positive email sent to MS Service Group by me.As for MS Service Group installing compatible security software and Office, their installations degraded my PC so badly it caused it to run even slower than it had been, as well as causing the home tile screen to malfunction. It did NOT work. If you attempted to use the start screen tiles the internet connection would be broken and could only be re-established from the desktop. The internet could not be accessed from anywhere but the desktop. The terms & condition document that was 'electronically signed' was clicked thru by Matthew the MS Service Group employee, I verified the spelling of my name only. As the document was locked on my desktop, I was unable to read it.I asked multiple times if I was speaking to [redacted], your call recordings will verify that MS Service Group employees response was to the affirmative. As for a customer who gets their PC related issues resolved, that would not be me. It has taken [redacted] over 7 hours over the course of 4 days to fix my computer.Again, I would like this company to never contact me again.

Review: Pursuant to my previous letter, I was under the impression that MS Service Group was going to refund me $198.98. I called them last Thursday or Friday and they said they could not credit my [redacted] but would send me a check. As you can see they promised me a refund several weeks ago. When I called them they remotely serviced my computer which, as it turned out, was worst after they worked on it. It was extremely slow. Facebook would not completely load. Anyway, I did ask [redacted] to upgrade my speed. That helped. But whereas I could watch videos before they serviced it, after they worked on it, I got nothing on the vidoes. Desired Settlement: Being extremely disappointed, I asked them for a refund.I have already mailed you most of this correspondence before, but I noted that I talked to them and they would be refunding the $198.98. But, as you can see, nothing has happened.Anything you can do to help me out would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: Our church purchased a [redacted] package of which we could not load. Called MS Service Group LLC and they charged us $99.98 to load to our computer. We tried to load another computer and called for assistance, we were not charged. They both did the same things but one company did not charge us. Please note that this is a company that is after a persons money. Beware of MS Service Group LLC.Desired Settlement: We should not have been charged or at least be informed that there were other methods we could have used to settle this issue. And we would also like you to retain this situation in your files.
