Thank you for your help. When I returned home from work this evening, our porch job was completed. The post covers were not the nice fluted ones that Matt C*** showed us before he took them away, but what he put up is fine. The posts are covered and the porch ceiling is covered. I am so happy to have this over with! I didn’t want to find another contractor and pay more money to finish what was so close to done. I appreciate your help VERY much!
Sincerely,

Review: Matt C[redacted] (MSC Contracting) started a job to replace our roof and add a small porch on the front of our house on Tuesday, June 3rd. The attendance for he and his crew was poor througout the two+ plus weeks it took to get the roof done. On Thursday, June 12th, he was almost done and asked for the rest of his money ($5,000). Unfortunately, my husband paid him. He left that day with the porch posts still needing to be covered and no "ceiling" in the porch itself. (Matt told my husband the day he got the last money that he hadn't bid on the ceiling!) On June 17th, he came and removed his equipment and supplies. On Thursday, July 17th, he answered with a text saying that he'd take care of it all "this week or Monday." Despite multiple reminders, he has yet to finish the job and has stopped making promises or even replying to texts or calls. As of today,9 weeks and two days later, we have raw wood posts exposed to the weather and no ceiling in the porch (which he said in the 7/17 text that he'd do because he was taking so long.)Desired Settlement: We'd like the complete job finished as promised: the two porch posts covered and a ceiling on the porch. OR - enough money returned that we can pay someone else to finish the job.
