I was contacted by MSGA when I submitted my information for Covered California enrollmentWhen connected the representative gave me really basic info but was not able to provide me with any detailed information regarding the companyHe presented the company as a major nationwide carrier with too good to be true numbersWhen I confirmed that I was interested in taking the coverage I was then told I need to pay $monthly charge plus a $one time feeWhen I asked for more detailed information regarding the company before submitting payment, I was put on hold and eventually disconnected from the callThis leads me to believe that this is some type of a scam for people who are desperate for low cost health insurance

enter your reason(s) for rejecting the business response below.I would like response to WHY anyone would benefit from this health insurance. The possible amount paid by the company for medical expenses does not equate the amount I pay for the insurance. Even if I don't get money back, I think this plan needs to be reviewed as it is not of benefit to the consumer!

A thirty day free look period is provided  to make sure that the benefits  are what the member wants. In the event that these are not what is desired, all premiums would  be refunded if notice is provided within the thirty day free look period. The member asked “Why anyone would benefit from this health insurance”. The answer is that people have different needs; the agent does a detailed review of benefits to make sure that the benefits being offered meet the individuals needs.

Insurance Innovations ("HII"), is the program manager of the Limited Benefits Health plan underwritten by Companion Life Insurance Company. Accordingly, we have investigated your inquiries and provided our response below.The member purchased a Limited Benefit Health policy through an independent agent from Health Benefits Once,LLC ("HBO"), on June 12, 2014. After the sale was complete, the member went through a voice verification, where she was advised of benefit information and pre-existing exclusions. The member was further advised that payments on hospitalization and doctor's visits are for a fixed amount and subject to terms and conditions of the policy. She confirmed her understanding of the fixed benefit payments, pre-existing exclusions and the policy terms and conditions.Additionally, when the policy was issued, the member received a welcome email. The welcome email provided a user ID, and password to access the online policy documents to save, download, review, and print. The member has a 30-day free look period to review the policy limitations and exclusions; if the member was not satisfied or has questions about their policy they are instructed to contact HII directly to receive a full refund.Per review of our system records., the member attempted to log in on four separate occasions. with two of the four being successful (10/18/16 and 11/01/16).Additionally, Hill is the plan program manager for the carrier and does not handle claims. The claims administrator, WebTPA will respond on behalf of the member's concerns regarding claims.We believe the foregoing is responsive to your request.
