We are so very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you during the process.  You should have received a call from our claims department regarding the receipt for plumbing service you’d submitted.  It seems that this part of the process didn’t take place and we...

apologize for not being in contact with you.  When clearing sewer blockages, our coverage pertains to having ground level cleanouts and is limited to 100 feet from the cleanout opening.  Clearing blockages from roof vents would have been an exclusion under your policy. Normally we wouldn’t have been able to approve a reimbursement of this sort due to the manner in which the blockage was cleared however because our phones were down and we were not able to get to you, we will be reimbursing you fully for the plumbing receipt.  Please allow 10-14 business days to receive the check via mail.

This response is nothing but double talk and is unacceptable.Platinum Home Warranty was not even contacted by my until on or after the date they say the claim was denied.  Nothing was ever denied and I was still in communication with them until July 13th, when they were waiting for me to accept their proposal.Their response says nothing about the clearly inflated proposal, which is the crux of this complaint.  I stated repeatedly, to several of their representatives, that if the proposal was brought to a reasonable level, I would go with them to replace the air conditioner.  In the end, my out-of-pocket expense would still have been greater with them, even with the $1500 allowance, than if I paid cash to have it done by another contractor.   I still request that they pay me $1500, which is in my contract, towards a new air conditioner.

This certainly doesn't sound like one of our finest moments, and we would be upset if we were in your shoes too. We want to make things right and have agreed to refund the full amount of the policy. If you need any further assistance, please reach out to us at [redacted].Sincerely,Platinum Home Warranty

We want to help in any way possible. This was a denied claim and we were working with the property manager listed on this account. The reason for the denial was the disconnect had been pulled on the unit by an unknown 3rd party and the unit was hardwired which can cause damage to the unit. This is why this claim was then redirected to our retail division to quote a new unit and help offer a discount for being a warranty member. We are still happy to offer the aggregate limit since there was confusion in regards to the claim status. The total aggregate limit is $1500 and to date $425 has been used up of that aggregate leaving a balance of $1075 that we are more than happy to offer.
