This man Joe Whoston, the Pool Man is a CROOKHe was referred to us by a friend and was supposed to change our pool linerI gave him $to do the job, and he promptly cashed the check and basically has disappearedAfter repeated excuses as to why the job kept being postponed, he finally has stopped answering or returning our phone callsHe kept us waiting many times, saying he was coming over to do the work and then simply not showing up without any noticeApparently he has done this to at least one other customer as we found out on Angie's listThey never got their money back either
Contacted this guy named Joe "The Pool Man" on May 3, to have him open my pool on May @ 1pm He was a No Show I contact him and he replies that he will call when on his way Now approximately 5:15pm he states he is on his way I said NO that won't work as I have to been somewhere by 6pmHe said no problem I will come over tomorrow (May at 11am) NO Show I let a few hours slip by and contact him No return phone call or textNothing He shows up Tuesday, May @ 7pm, takes the cover off my pool, connects by pump Could not get the pump to prime/catch Says my hardware to PVC pipes is old and needs replacement Yes I believe him as the pump was difficult to prime in past year He said it will cost XYZ to fix I give him $and he said he would be back the next day (May 25) One week later, May 31st, nothingNever came back, no phone call/text I call him on May 31st and told him my pool is green and I paid him $for nothing and need my issue
We hired The Pool Man to purchase and install a safety pool cover for our pool as well as close our pool in October After taking $of our money as a down payment, he then dodged our repeated phone calls and texts, or told us he would show up to install the pool cover and close our pool and then never show for about a month Once we finally got him to speak to us, he told us that the down payment we gave him was deposited in an account that was frozen and he did not place the down payment for the pool cover We then had to buy the cover outright on our own, weeks later had him install it, but he still owed us over $bucks in refund since we now had to buy the cover outright We signed a document with him starting that he owed us a refund and he gave us a speech about honesty and his reputation around Thanksgiving of As of April 2016, we have still not seen our money or heard from him We did take him to small claims court (which he did not show for) and a judgem
