We sincerely apologize for the inconvenienceUnfortunately, upon entering into contract on the subject property, there were delays in the submittal and thus re-submittal of the permitWhile it is never our goal for permits to slow us down, we unfortunately are not at the liberty to decipher delays at the county or other inconviences that would slow productionThe contract you entered into was duly noted that the agreement was prior to commencement of framing and a closing date that was established was an estimate onlyRegardless, we understand, as a company, that delays are costly, frustrating and overwhelming and due to this, we have agreed upon terminating the agreement and returning all upgrade and earnest moneyThank you
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The operations manager called me the morning after I filed my complaint. The best way I can word it is that she berated me. She told me that our build was going to be delayed even further due to me filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. It felt like retaliation on behalf of the builder. She told me it would be best for everyone involved if we backed out of this contract and found somewhere else to live, because “at this point nothing would make [us] happy.” She said that they were willing to refund us our money, and that it was something they rarely do, yet the one neighbor I’ve spoken with said they offered them the same thing. The operations manager told me that my complaint “got sent to everyone in the company and that it left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth.” I mentioned how poor their communication has been with us/our realtor and I was told that it was our agent’s fault for the poor communication... insinuating they the communication on their end has been stellar. She told me that she was regretfully brought in too late in the game to have been able to assist with the earlier issues, however, unbeknownst to her, my realtor had blind copied me on every correspondence they had. She has been involved in our build from the very beginning. She also told me that it wasn’t reasonable for me to expect updates on our property every week. I, personally, do not think that is too far fetched when you are paying over $300,000 for a house. My husband and I understand that delays happen and that it’s a part of building a property, but I believe we’ve been extremely understanding and cordial up until this point. I was told that there were worker and material delays and shortages, but I would like to know how our house is the only house on the street being affected by these delays and shortages to this extreme. The entire conversation I had with her was just her trying to shift the blame to anyone and everyone but herself and the company. In the end, the company gave us our earnest money and upgrade investment back to us, but not any lender costs we paid. While they did refund us our money, the company has been heinously unprofessional, and nothing they offered begins to touch the depth of the emotional stress and financial strain they put on us.
Sincerely,
