Review: I took my dog to them because he was vomiting. I have been there several times and very much like the [redacted] I normally see. After blood work showed EXTREMELY high liver numbers and severe low platelets/clotting factors, he was hospitalized for 2 days, kept on IV fluids, liver meds, vitamin k, as well as receiving an AUS and 2 blood transfusions. On the the second day we took him home with 5 medications (liver had improved, platelets were still critally low). The next day while he had shown improvement as far as alertness, he was having trouble breathing because of severe fluid retention. Took him back and was seen by the emergency [redacted] on staff, [redacted]. It just so happens that I had previously taken my dog to a different vet that is ran by [redacted]. I abruptly had left that vet because I felt she was negligent. Needless to say when she walked into the exam room my heart sank. If my dog hadn't been so uncomfortable I would have left without having him treated by her. She gave lasix SQ and sent us home. Shortly after getting home we noticed my dog's breathing was very rapid. Called vet and was told it wasn't a side effect of the lasix and more likely because his condition was critical. Less then a hr later he died. The next week I asked for a copy of his records as I had done some research and discovered that lasix can lower platlets. I reviewed his records thoroughly and noticed a time discrepancy (specifically between when I called after he was seen by [redacted] and when he died), indicating that his records were altered after the fact. Also on a side note, we adopted a dog from the shelter and had him seen by [redacted] (not seen before) to have his neuter incision checked. He gave my dog a vaccine without my knowledge or consent. When I complained to the front staff the entire thing was handled horribly. Even going as far as to hold my deceased dogs ashes until I payed for the $20 vaccine. Mind you the ashes had already been payed for and we had spent almost $3800 less then 2 weeks earlier.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the charges from when he was seen by [redacted]. Again I have no issues with the **. we normally see and I believe he treated him appropriately. I would like a refund for the vaccine given to my new dog because I didn't OK it. I would also like the hospital to at least review whether or not they believe [redacted] is competent. I am not the only client to have serious problems with her specifically. Finally I would like an explanation as to why my pet's records were altered.
