m *** To whom it may concern: I am Sam *** and I am responding to a complaint that was made by *** * ***, now when *** had dropped his ford crown vic off to my shop he asked to see how much an intake manifold and
gaskets would be, so I had told him that I would write up an estimate and get back with himI called him on June 22nd and had given him an estimate of 642.00$ for parts and labor to replace the intake manifoldLater that day I had called him back because I miscalculated the price and it now came out to 742.00$ WITHOUT taxes included, and we had to put more antifreeze in the car than expected so that was not put on the bill because I didn’t know how much we were going to have to useSo I had told him the car would be done on the 23rd of June so he came to pick up the car and I added up the bill and it came out to 831.00$ with taxes and the antifreeze included, now he had a problem with bill about the antifreeze so I had went ahead and took it off the bill and gave him all the antifreeze for freeEven though I had said it was just an estimate because it is an older car and I didn’t know if anything else happened to the car so if something did I would have a rough estimate on how much it would beNow later we were notified by him that there was a gas smell from the car and that Mason City police officer had said that there was a significant amount of fuel coming from the engine, so we had Barnes towing service tow the car to our shop at no charge to himNow looking at the car we had found out that the o ring on one of the injectors had gone bad and wasn’t sealing correctly and it was spraying gas, now we did not replace the seals because he just wanted to have the intake manifold replaced with manifold gaskets so then we replaced the o rings for free and we put 20$ of gas in it for free, and we had done our best working on the car but it is an old car so many things can go wrong on them when working on something else Thanks Sam ***
