Review: The wrong muffler was put on my truck. The owner, a lady, replace old my muffler (Oct 18, 2013)with a muffler twice the size. It hangs lower than the bottom of my door (you can see the big barrel out bending down) and too close for comfort to the ground. I told the lady that the muffler was to big, but she continue to install the muffler be she had already cut the pipe in front of the old muffler and the pipe and the back of the old muffle and forced it to fit.I spoke with another owner ( a man that helped her to install) and he said it will not be hanging when she finish. After a lady in the office realized I was not going to be satisfied, she ask for payment but I refused it the time. When the job was finished, I express that I was not satisfied and they needed to do something about it but she refused to listen and so did the gentleman. The lady how repaired the Van demanded payment and I paid because I had nobody with me to witness this problem and I was surrounded by many family members. This is a transportation Van and when occupied with weigh it goes down lower making the muffler lower and unsafe to drive.Desired Settlement: I would like the correct muffler put on my car or money to fit it correctly. I was told that that install the correct size muffler the pipe on to short and would have to be installed with the new muffler. I have check for the right one and clearly it is an oval shaped one in fit closer to the bottom of my Van the barrel shape on is made for a truck/ Van bigger.

Response:

The day [redacted] "Customer" came to get service done on her vehicle, customer had a blown muffler with a small extension of the tail pipe also cracked due to the shaking and pressure caused by the blown muffler. I quoted customer a price of $200.00, Customer did not have the money available so customer left. That same evening, Customer called asking to only pay $160.00, since that was all customer was able to round up. I accepted, and customer came in the same evening to get the muffler and small extension pipe put on. While working on the automobile, customer said and I quote "ONE SIDE IS HIGHER THAN THE OTHER". If in fact, the size would have been an issue (as customer quotes in customer paperwork) I would have NOT proceed since nothing had been welded and avoided this. After customer told me that one side was higher than the other, I told customer work had not been completed yet. Customer quotes in her paper work about being pressured to pay, once work is complete it's obvious any customer has to proceed with payment. Once work had been completed and payment had been processed, I overheard customer telling my other customers in the waiting room that she was unsatisfied with our work. I asked customer why she was unsatisfied, customer then told me she wanted the muffler to not be visible, after the fact that the work had been completed. I explained to customer, why would she tell me this after work had been completed. I also explained to customer, she couldn't install a smaller muffler as she wished because it would put a lot of pressure due circulation of the air flow and the size of her vehicle and it would cause it to explode as the previous muffler we removed. Customer left that evening, feeling comfortable after we explained it to her. In the next few days, customer returned. Customer then told me that it was hanging down to low and could cause an accident, I explained that her vehicle has a metal band that hangs down way lower than the muffler installed in case the propeller shaft fell and it's beside the muffler. Also the rear differential is way lower than the muffler installed. Customer then explained she wanted to install recreational equipment inside the vehicle that would weigh the vehicle down and that customer would cut the metal band in case it would be an issue. After that, I left customer alone, this is a matter of personal preference. The work is well done and completed. I will not install anything in a vehicle that would make it in any way unsafe or affect its performance, While I worked on the vehicle she did not mention anything except one side is higher than the other. After the work was completed she mentions all these things.
