Mullanphy Tire & Automotive Inc Reviews (1)

I had my van's transmission rebuilt in April of 2015. I was told it would take 1 week for the repair. I made arrangements to get back and forth to work. When calling to ask if it was going to be ready by April 3rd was told that it was not but it needed a radiator. I stated that I could not continue to make arrangements for rides but that I needed a vehicle to get back and forth plus running daily errands. I also stated that it was promised that it would be ready by April 3rd. After many phone calls that day, I finally was given permission to rent a vehicle. My van was not ready until Friday April 10. After this incident my husband and I chose to find another auto service to take our vehicles to when work was needed. I was also told by a really good friend that works in one of the shops in the same strip mall that my transmission and radiator had been dropped. At this time we just wanted to take our auto service business elsewhere and hope that nothing would happen. The new place was informed that if there was anything ever wrong with transmission not to fix it but to let us know so that we could take it back to Mullanphy to get warranty work. So on December 15th the van was not driving properly. So I took it to my new auto service. When they called they stated that some of the codes were coming from transmission. Van was towed to Mullanphy on December 15 th @5:45 pm. The owner of Mullanphy drove me to work Wednesday morning, very awkward. When I called Wednesday December 16 @ 1:00 pm I was told that it had not been checked out and was waiting for a bay. My husband called hour later and told same thing. I then received a call from Mullanphy that [redacted] gave them permission to take transmission out because there was metal shavings in the pan. I asked for a rental car but was told that was not going to happen. I also stated that I knew the transmission was dropped, Mullanphy did not try to deny my accusation. They continued to tell me that I was not getting a rental car at their cost. When I called on Thursday to find out what [redacted] said on how long, was told after 1st of year. I stated that I could not be without a car for that long. I gave Mullanphy two choices 1) get me a rental car or 2) pay me the $3000 for the last time the transmission was supposed to have been rebuilt. They called me back and stated that they had a blazer that I could drive when they got it rode ready. I did not feel comfortable and had to call my insurance company. I called back to let Mullanphy know that that was not going to happen because I was not insured to drive another persons car plus I did not feel comfortable in driving a vehicle that needed to be road ready. I stated that I wanted a car or $2000. The reason the amount changed was because $3000 was for the full job, $2400 was transmission and stated that I had been driving the van for 7 months. I was told that a car was offered and I was covered under the owners personal insurance to drive his cars. I did not feel comfortable because what if something happened when I was driving it especially with all the run around that I had received the last time and now. I finally spoke with owner and stated to just give me the $2000 and cut all ties we have. He stated that he needed to call [redacted] to see what they say. I stated that I wanted to know by Friday at 12 NOON. The owner stated that he was not going to promise that but HE could promise my van would be ready by December 29. On Friday December 18 @ 10 am I received a call from Mullanphy stating that there would be a check for $2000 ready when I could get there. I had to make arrangements to get van towed back to my current auto service and for me to go and release it to tow truck driver. My father and I went to pick up keys and check plus wait for tow truck, I saw my friend at her place of business, she knew what had happened the previous day's, do I filled her in on what happened that morning. She stated each time I spoke with her that the van has not been moved from where tow truck left it on Tuesday. When tow truck came. It just happened to be same driver that dropped it off and he verified that it had not moved from same spot where he left it on Tuesday. I gave him keys and stated that my father and I need to run to bank and would meet him at the other auto service. I can not believe how much run around that Mullanphy gave me.
I have also heard through the community that Mullanphy is performing hot inspections. Please be mindful of suggesting Mullanphy tire and auto to anyone to get work completed on their vehicles. They are NOT honest people!
