Review: [redacted], owner of Mullenix Pools and Spas came to my home to offer his services. I explained to him that we were having a problem with algae in our swimming pool. I told and showed him the products that we use in our pool. He recommended a product called [redacted] I specifically asked if [redacted] could be used with our pool sanitizer which is a biguande product. He stated yes and that he had several customers with the same type of pool sanitizer who were using [redacted] I bought the product from him and had the pool chemistry set to the required recommendation from the [redacted] instructions. Added the [redacted] to the pool. The next day our pool was all cloudy and milky looking. I took the product out of the skimmer basket in the pool and took a water sample to [redacted]. The water sample showed that our pool had way to much copper in it coming from the [redacted] product. I called [redacted] telling him our problem and that I felt he should refund the amount of $85, the cost of the product. He refused. He again stated that he had customers with the same sanitizers (Biguande or Baquacil)in their pools and they had no problems with the product. So far to date I have spent over $400 trying to get my pool back to the proper water chemistry without all the copper in it. Doing research after this incident I found The [redacted] web site "The[redacted]jigsu.com" stating not to use their product with Baquacil or any Biguande products. [redacted] sold me a product that he should not have according to the [redacted] Company. I would like my money back. I believe he should also pay my additional expenses to get my pool back to the proper water chemistry. "This pool service expert " sold me a product that was not compatible with the sanitizing agents I use in my pool. He even went so far as to convince me that customers of his, that were using my sanitizing agents, had successfully used [redacted] in their pools.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for additional products to get pool water chemistry (metals out) back to normal. To date that amount is $439.91.Refund of $85, the cost of the [redacted] product that he sold to me.The above does not consider my time in trying to get the pool water chemistry (copper in the water out) back to normal. The expense of gas for driving back and forth to [redacted] Pool Store for products and water testing.

I use to work for a public agency, which at one time I met [redacted], and help him with some work. Since then I started my own pool business and I was in his neighborhood, caring for one of my customers pools, on my way to another customers pool I saw [redacted] and stopped to say hello, and at that time he explained his problem with his pool, and at that time I ask what chemicals he was using and tested the water being nice, and told him his chemistry was off, but I recommened after he got his chemistry figured out that the [redacted] works great against algae. Yes I have my own customers where I do all the chemistry on their pool and placed the [redacted] in their pools and they have been completely satisfied, [redacted] who isn't even a customer of mine is the only one not satisfied. When I sold [redacted] the [redacted] I explained to him to make sure and read the directions completely, and make sure you follow them. Which [redacted] stated to me that his wife took care of the chemicals, and he wasn't completely sure of all the chemicals his wife uses. I was not present at the time he installed the [redacted], nor do I know what his exact chemistry was at the time. When he phoned me I told him that the [redacted] should not have altered the pool, after consulting with other pool companies, that have used the [redacted] for numerous years, as well as consulting with my whole sell company which deals with hundreds of contractors. they all reassured me it wasn't the [redacted] causing all the problem. Bottom line I stopped to say hello to [redacted] and I did a favor by checking his pool chemicals, and giving him my free advice. Like I told [redacted] on the phone we both learned a valuable lesson, I'm not going to help someone out who is not my customer,and I have no knowledge of their chemistry, and he needs to read the directions on things. I feel I don't own [redacted] any money, due to the fact I have no knowledge of what he has put in his pool. Except for the [redacted]., and once again this is why I left the directions.[redacted]Mullenix Pools

Yes, [redacted] dropped by to say hi, but at the same time was soliciting for his new business. He did not do a thorough water test. I physically showed him the sanitizing agents that we use. The same water that he supposedly tested was taken to [redacted] store for testing and was fine. Yes I have my own customers where I do all the chemistry on their pool and placed the [redacted] in their pools and they have been completely satisfied, [redacted] who isn't even a customer of mine is the only one not satisfied. [redacted] stated several times that he had customers who used the same type of sanitizer with [redacted]. What customer does he have that uses a biguanides sanitzer and [redacted]? I would like to know what that biguanides sanitizer is. When I sold [redacted] the [redacted] I explained to him to make sure and read the directions completely, and make sure you follow them. I did. Water was tested at [redacted] Store and met all the parameters according to [redacted] instructions, except for using a chlorine agent which you can not use with Biguanides sanitizers. [redacted]s has a copy of that water test. At the time I actually bought [redacted] from [redacted] I asked again if he was sure that it was OK to use [redacted] with biguanides sanitizers and physically showed him the sanitizing agent. He stated yes. At that same time I mentioned to him that we could not use chlorine agents with our beguanides sanitizer. He assured me that he had clients with the similar sanitizers and that they have had no problems. Which [redacted] stated to me that his wife took care of the chemicals, and he wasn't completely sure of all the chemicals his wife uses. Again, I showed him the sanitizing agents that we use. I was not present at the time he installed the [redacted], nor do I know what his exact chemistry was at the time. As stated in my complaint, after seeing what occurred to our pool and after talking to [redacted] about the incident I did some research on the internet and came across a [redacted] web site that specifically stated that [redacted] cannot be used with biguanides sanitizers. I would think that a pool specialist would know what sanitizers could be used with what products. Water chemistry was stable (according to [redacted] testing) at the time of adding [redacted]. Bottom line I stopped to say hello to [redacted] and I did a favor by checking his pool chemicals, he did not and giving him my free advice. Like I told [redacted] on the phone we both learned a valuable lesson, I'm not going to help someone out who is not my customer,and I have no knowledge of their chemistry, and he needs to read the directions on things. I feel I don't own [redacted] any money, due to the fact I have no knowledge of what he has put in his pool. Except for the [redacted]., and once again this is why I left the directions. After calling him about the incident, [redacted] never offered to come over and take a look at the pool or offer any help or suggestions. I would think that the least thing he could do would be to refund my money for the [redacted] product that I purchased. I guess I could take this to a small claims court and ask for a judge to decide. However, at that time I will not only ask for a refund of the product but present several receipts for chemistry that had to be purchased to fix the problem that [redacted] created, now standing at over $500.

This is turning into he said he said game, I want you to know I will still stand behind my [redacted], and continue to defend myself,I have 75 pools that I am in charge of and 3/4 of them I have installed the [redacted] , with no problems. You [redacted] and your wife are in charge of one pool that is having many problems, example the reason your pool is sandy and gritting is your peroxide base products are eating away at your pool. I will refund your 85.00 and send it to the address listed.Mullenix pools
