I am rejecting this request for a refund because my work that was performed was done to a very high standardI've been a union plaster out of the Chicago Plasterer’s Union for yearsI went through a year apprentice program and have been plastering full time for yearsUpon entering the house, I put plastic over all doorways and area that was to be worked on including the floor, taking a very high level of pride in my workI removed the damaged plaster, installed metal lath, browned the area that was lathed, and white coated it very meticulouslyI later proceeded to clean around the patched area with a spongeI am sorry this customer isn’t happy but I've had many thousands of customers that are pleased with my work When the customer called me he mentioned nothing of plaster not being hardI know for a fact that the plaster was hard because it set up on the board that I mix onI believe the integrity of this letter is because Mr [redacted] is saying the plaster never got hard When he called me I was out of townI told him I could come over in two days when I returnedWhen I returned he had demoed his closet and drywalled itThere will be no refund on this job and I do not believe he is being honest with the facts of this situationI’ve never had a customer act in this manner and no job that I have ever completed has been considered spotty - [redacted] Mullowney

From: *** Mullowney [mailto:***@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, September 01, 2:PM To: Customer Relations Subject: Case #*** I *** Mullowney, Owner of Mullowney Lath and Plaster, received a call from *** *** that he needed
some plaster repair in a closetHe described an area on the ceiling that was damagedI gave him an over the phone estimate of $from having years experience of doing plaster repair, without seeing the jobUpon arriving to the job site and after meticulously covering the foyer staircase, and work area, I entered into the closet where the work was to be performedI began to demo the ceiling that was water damaged, which was softSoon to realize, the walls in the closet were also soft and needed to be demoed and replastered in the upper portion of the closetAt this point I mentioned to Mr*** that there was more damage than I originally quoted and that I was going to need to get $for the job, which he agreed uponAt 4:30pm this day I had contacted Mr*** and told him that I could get to his job at 5:00pmThe job took hoursI have costs of plaster products, insurance, advertising, and other overheads associated with operating a business that Mr*** does not realize goes into every jobA few days after completing the job, Mr*** contacted me, stating that there were bugs on the wall in his closetI had told him that I have never heard of such a thing and that I was out of townI said that I could come by in a few days when I got back from being out of townUpon returning Mr*** phone call the following Monday, he told me he had ripped the plaster out of the entire closet, installed drywall and also painted the closet I then received notification from the Revdex.com there was a complaint from this customerI called the Revdex.com and was told I needed to write a written response to the complaint that was filed on 8/1/within daysI did the work the customer requested and do not feel a refund shall be granted

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I feel the work that was performed was unsatisfactory based on the experience he had I was under the impression that he was able to completely repair and replace what was needed to solve the problem as it turned out after this plaster job the problem was worse I would only assume that the work was not completed to a high level of integrity as I now have small bugs I had to deal with as I didn't have bugs to deal with before I feel *** over charged me for work that was not complete as the job was worse off when he left I did call back in a few days and wondered why the plaster didn't harden in hours as well as why there were bugs He told me that was my problem he did what I paid him to do and that was that I asked him to come look at it but he said why? What could he do He didn't bring the bugs they must have been there before I got there Turns out they were mos likely around because of the left over waterfilled walls and installation that *** didn't not attempt to remove or even consult me on he plastered around a light bulb with even removing the fixer His job was a patch job at best and a spotty patch job at that I had to remove all his work and completely drywall the entire closet to solve all problems To to say I am unhappy with his response is an understatement He called me several days after completing the Revdex.com complaint to solve the isssue He told me he would talk to his lawyer and he would get back to me within hours He also mentioned at best he could give me $back and would I be happy then I told him I look forward to hearing from him and anything is better then nothing as of right now he is not standing behind his work at all
Sincerely,
