I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. You are truly amazing people and my heroes.
Sincerely,

September 21, 2016 Case #[redacted]Consumer: Margarita [redacted]Case Opened 09/14/2016Ms. [redacted] signed her daughter Ruth [redacted] into our Introductory, Modeling-FCP program on 9/11/2016.Ms. [redacted] never cancelled her contract.  She reached out to the Revdex.com and never contacted...

us.  This is the first we are hearing about her dissatisfaction. We have reached out to her twice, left her voicemails and she has not responded. Ms. [redacted] contacted John Robert Powers-Chicago by inquiring through an ad on Facebook about our services.  On September 10, 2016, at 2pm, Ms. [redacted] along with her child’s Uncle and her child attended a John Robert Powers seminar explaining the history of John Robert Powers, who we are, what we do, and the procedure to follow.  Ms. [redacted] was given written information which included details of our services, a few of our many success stories and the fees for our services.Ms. [redacted]’ complaint states that, “they make you turn off your Phone I’m guessing to search the things they are saying ain’t truth…”  We ask that the phones are turned off in the seminar so the Director is not interrupted by cell phones ringing and those that want to be there can hear the Director without interruption.Ms. [redacted] was asked to “go home and read the packet from cover to cover”.   Ms. [redacted] was contacted later that evening. One of the first questions we asked is “Did you read the packet of information that was sent home?” Since the answer was “yes” after further conversation an appointment was scheduled for the following day.  Ms. [redacted] was scheduled to move forward. The  program Ms. [redacted] registered her child in was for a total cost of $1600.  $1100 for the program fee, $500 for the Non-Refundable Registration fee. This is not a pay as you go program.  Ms. [redacted] could not afford to pay for the program in full.  We graciously gave her a payment plan that would allow her child to attend her rehearsal(s)/Showcase.In Ms. [redacted]’ complaint she states she gave $600 for payment and $50 for tax.  Ms. [redacted] paid $650.  $550 on her card and $100 on her child’s uncle’s card.  Owing a balance of $950.   Ms. [redacted] received a Payment Schedule that she initialed and agreed to.Ms. [redacted] stated, “I search them up cause a friend told me they were a scam and that she went thru it and all they did for her to pay and pay for basic training I just want to end my contract with them cause they got my card number where they can take my money out”.Anyone can write or say anything on the internet.  We pride ourselves in the fact that we have an A+ rating with the Revdex.com and we work very hard to maintain that rating.Ms. [redacted]’ desired Settlement, “I just want to end my contract with them.”We accept this as her cancellation letter and we will no longer charge her account and release her from her obligation, which we would have done if she had contacted us directly.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Your Institution practices will Never be ok with me.  I do not want anyone from your Institution KNOCKING ON MY DOOR, regardless of what practice you have.  I come into MCU every month to make a payment.  The problem is it is not enough for you, I am still making an effort.  I also came into MCU a week before someone from your Institution knock on my door.   I make every effort to make a payment.  It have got to be illigal to stop someone access to their hard earn money because they fall behind with their payments.  I am anxiously awaiting a Class Action Lawsuit against your organization.  I will gladly help in evey way I can to make sure you pay for your inhuman practices.

The member filed a claim for the $266.68, saying that the charge made was not authorized by her and that $266.68 would have covered the smaller charges she made.  When [redacted] attempted to collect $9.33 and $10.94 on 2/**, the transactions were both returned causing her NSF fees because she...

didn’t have the $266.68 and the account would go negative from the smaller purchases.  We assured the member that we would refund the NSF fee if and only if the claim for the $266.68 was verified and returned.  Being that the claim was denied, the member would not have had the funds to cover the smaller purchases and, therefore, would not qualify to have NSF fees reversed or refunded by MCU. [redacted] subsequently attempted to collect on these transactions on 02/** and 03/** where Ms. W[redacted] was charged 4 additional NSF fees.  So in essence, in total, she was charged $180.00 for the 6 attempts made by PayPal.  The member received a courtesy fee waive in October of 2015, and at that time we advised the member to increase their overdraft to avoid an issue in the future.  Our records indicate that this recommendation was not acted upon.

On 6/**/17, MCU notified the member via email that the checking account was credited on 6/**/17 for $190.28.  We consider this matter resolved.

I wish to have all of my recent NSF fees reversed. They were acquired in error and it's completely unfair. I can't afford such a loss to an error that wasn't my fault.

We apologize for the issue that our member is having regarding back-dated checks and NSF Fees.  The complaint has been filed and forwarded to the appropriate parties at MCU for review.  We will look into the issue fully and make sure that MCU is not at fault for [redacted] processing...

checks prior to the check date.

The MCU collections team got in touch with this member, and arrangements were made...

for the member pay $50.00 every 2 weeks starting on November [redacted], in order to pay off the balance of the loan past due.  The member was granted access to her debit card on 10/**/15 because of the arrangements.  The member was advised that we will waive the interest on the accounts. Please let me know if you need additional information.  Thanks. [redacted] AVP, Public Relations/Corp. Communications Municipal Credit Union ###-###-#### office ###-###-#### cell

I have been informed by my staff that the member's account should be credited $180.00 due to [redacted] being at fault for the NSF fees.  We apologize for any inconvenience caused to the member.

Although the member has indicated that MCU has already contacted her regarding this complaint in regards to credit inquiries being made, the complaint has been filed a second time for further review.  Once we have more detailed information regarding their issue, we will update this member accordingly.

We have researched your concern and determined the following.  MCU has obtained satisfactory appraisal supported the estimated value for your unit (**)  at the time of inspection in July 2016.  Upon further review and conversation with the appraiser, the comparables  were the...

best available at such time.  There was limited inventory of 3 bedroom condominiums similar to subject complex and unit.  MCU is required to have the appraisals distributed through an independent party.  The second appraisal for the unit above, [redacted], done 4 months later in 11/2016 was also supported with  satisfactory comps at said time.  There were no recent sales within the complex that were able to be used in both appraisals.  Both appraisal reports were completed by different companies therefore there will be a difference in value.   The market conditions and time of sales are factors that will affect the overall value. In the case of a cash out refinance, there is a 80% maximum LTV.  Mortgage financing exceeding 80% LTV requires PMI which is not available to obtain for a cash out refinance transaction.  We hope the aforementioned has provided clarification regarding the property value and mortgage financing of your property.

Our Member Service Operations team has reviewed this inquiry and will reach out to the member directly in order to explain the entire issue and our conclusions in detail.  We have waived our $20 stop payment fee as a courtesy to the member.

Initially, during the first phone call 4/*/16 to Chris of MCU account collections, he informed teller N[redacted] that I need to submit documentation proving I am being assisted by credit repair agency addressing the past due balance in order to remove the block from my account to have availability of all funds in my account. I requested to speak to a supervisor but teller N[redacted] had already ended the phone call with Chris. However, during my interaction with N[redacted] and a second teller T. G[redacted], Ms. G[redacted] stepped in assisting N[redacted] whereas she called account collections back requesting to speak to Chris however G[redacted] of MCU account collections stated to talk to her about the issue. Ms. G[redacted] spoke to G[redacted] of MCU account collections who appeared very rude, arrogant, unprofessional, and belligerent in her response to teller stating initial offer by Chris has been taken off table due to me requesting to speak to a supervisor. G[redacted] did not appear to assist this consumer as according to MCU mission to "build lifetime quality financial relationships with each member by providing competitive products and excellent service." I'm baffled at MCU staff behavior, attitude, and unprofessionalism concerning this matter. They never informed me prior to blocking my account while at teller on 3/**/16 whereas I was allowed to withdraw funds. The issue continued 4/*/16 as I returned to the branch, stood more than 2 hours which effected my time and attendance at work as I ran over my 1hr lunch break resulting in returning to work late. I still have not received any documentation in regards to this account overall. MCU allowed my money to be deposited and simply did what they wanted. These actions of MCU does not correspond with their reputation in the "focus on serving members, rather than on maximizing profit." So as of 4/*/16, the money has been withdraws out of my account making my balance $0. I am in the process of reaching out to MCU CEO Mr. W[redacted] and MCU Chairman Mr. P[redacted] in regards to this inhumane treatment in handling my funds. This is very disturbing that MCU acted in this manner and appears to be correct in their stance.

P;ease see response below, from MCU Collections Department:This account has been charged off since 2010 with a full pay off balance $440.56 that was outstanding in the Overdraft Line of Credit.  A payroll deposit came in on the account, as the member indicated, and it is MCU policy that all...

charged off accounts must be paid in full before full access to funds can be granted to the debtor.  The Line of Credit does accrue interest, as disclosed in the Overdraft Line of Credit disclosure, and the Line of Credit can’t be considered as paid in full until the full balance is paid.  The date of the last payment made on this account's Overdraft Line of Credit balance was 12/*/2009.

This complaint has been forwarded to the appropriate parties so that it can be reviewed using our official complaint protocol, and the rep will be spoken to regarding this compliant.  We consider this matter to be closed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Municipal Credit union has yet to update the charge off as paid. and according to Equifax and Transunion they are still reporting it as unpaid.  When I disputed it with both agencies and municipal credit union verified it as the debt of $234.00 is still owed.

I did not apply for a cash out refinance. I only sought to lower my current interest rate. And, I am still not satisfied with their response to my question about my appraisal coming in at $30,000.00 below market value. I do not accept their explanation.

In response to MCU, the said company is missing the bigger picture. The information was provided after months of inquiry and being given the run around by your staff which led me to seek help from Revdex.com.  Only then, they began to investigate.   MCU was not helping me to recover my check.  I didn't even receive any phone calls from them even though I contacted them on numerous occasions trying to find out the status of the missing check.

Please see our response below regarding the series of complaints made, as well as attached documents to support claims:Your letter regarding the overdraft and not granting you access to make deposits prior to December **, 2015, was caused by the overdraft account being 50 days past due.  Please refer to your overdraft protection line of credit disclosure agreement with Municipal Credit Union regarding accounts in default. It clearly states that all privileges will be suspended or closed until payment is made without advance notice and the entire account balance is due and payable immediately. On April **, 2016, we provided a letter of response with copies of your [redacted] statement showing that all reporting to the credit bureaus were accurate. The supporting statements showed that your [redacted] payment due date is on the [redacted] of each month. Our records show that the payments due on October [redacted] 2015 and November [redacted] 2015 went unpaid.  On December **, 2015, a payment of $300.00 was applied to the account which brought the account to a current status. Our records again show that both payments that were due on January [redacted] and February [redacted] went unpaid.  On 3/**/2016 you made a payment of $274.00 which brought your account to a current status.  You referenced January [redacted] 2016 as a payment being made to your credit card account.  We have a receipt showing that there was a $200 deposit made on January *, 2016 where $100 was applied to the checking account and $100.00 to the overdraft account.  Based upon our records there was no [redacted] payment made on January *, 2016. Municipal Credit Union does not remove information that has been reported accurately to the credit bureaus. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you but our decision stands as we have reported the information and handling of this account is a fair and accurate manner.
