12/27/2017To Whom it May Concern:in response to this client, [redacted] ***, who had purchased General Liability insurance from us on 11-9-2017.Her husband had originally contacted us November of this year and at the time purchased General Liability insurance for his roofing companyFor the coverage he paid a down payment of $with subsequent monthly payments to begin days from that date for $He was emailed his certificate of insurance that same date as we had Bound coverage with a carrierdays later his wife contacted me to let me know that this was not the coverage that she needed and that it immediately needed to be changedI let her know through numerous emails would do the best could to help her change coverage to what she needed and cancel the current General Liability policy that was originally purchasedShe was irate and demanded that I put in a claim with my Errors and Omission's policy as she claimed that someone from my company intentionally misled her husband and she had proof of thatTo this point she had already berated me as a business owner through several emails, despite this insisted that if this was the case she should provide me proof and I would actually take money out of my own pocket to repay her. When she finally sent me the text messages which she claimed to be the smoking gun in this situation it was blatantly clear throughout the entire Conversation that the application which he was sent was not the Worker's Compensation it was General Liability and that if he needed assistance with getting Worker's Compensation we could also help him with that but additional information would be needed and that would be procured through an entirely different companyHe proceeded to sign that application, which couldn't have been clearer that was for General Liability. So, after being verbally abused and berated by this client, and yelled at that my business and employees simply forced policies down people's throats that they did not want, and how I could not have any morals what So ever if I were not to refund her money out of money pocket or put in a claim on my insuranceAfter all this, it turned out that it was quite clear, that her husband was told that this was General Liability insurance, and he signed it, and it was not until days that it was made aware to us that this was a coverage not neededHad it been within a week we would have had no problem getting our clients' money back, but more than a month later that we were made aware to the situation we were handcuffed.Unfortunately, there is nothing more we could do, and would not take money out my pocket to pay for a mistake that is turns out her husband made, if it even was a mistakeWe often find that people willtry to pull stunts on us like this because they may have completed the job they needed the insurance for after a couple weeks and did not want to keep the insurance for the rest of the year, and try to convince us we made a mistake so that they can receive all of their money in a refundThis happens from time to time and is very frustrating to deal with, as it's the case with this current clientUnfortunately, when she provided proof that she was told they were different applications we could no longer give her the benefit of the doubt and would no longer refund her the money that she had claimed she was misled into giving usThis ultimately angered the client and led to one last email where she insulted me and my business once again.Hopefully this shines some light on what occurredWe will not be able to get a refund for the client as they carried the insurance for days before anything was brought to our attention. Thanks, D [redacted] ***

12/27/2017To Whom it May Concern:in response to this client, [redacted], who had purchased General Liability insurance from us on 11-9-2017.Her husband had originally contacted us November 9 of this year and at the time purchased General Liability insurance for his roofing company. For the...

coverage he paid a down payment of $463 with subsequent monthly payments to begin 30 days from that date for $178. He was emailed his certificate of insurance that same date as we had Bound coverage with a carrier.32 days later his wife contacted me to let me know that this was not the coverage that she needed and that it immediately needed to be changed. I let her know through numerous emails would do the best could to help her change coverage to what she needed and cancel the current General Liability policy that was originally purchased. She was irate and demanded that I put in a claim with my Errors and Omission's policy as she claimed that someone from my company intentionally misled her husband and she had proof of that. To this point she had already berated me as a business owner through several emails, despite this insisted that if this was the case she should provide me proof and I would actually take money out of my own pocket to repay her. When she finally sent me the text messages which she claimed to be the smoking gun in this situation it was blatantly clear throughout the entire Conversation that the application which he was sent was not the Worker's Compensation it was General Liability and that if he needed assistance with getting Worker's Compensation we could also help him with that but additional information would be needed and that would be procured through an entirely different company. He proceeded to sign that application, which couldn't have been clearer that was for General Liability. So, after being verbally abused and berated by this client, and yelled at that my business and employees simply forced policies down people's throats that they did not want, and how I could not have any morals what So ever if I were not to refund her money out of money pocket or put in a claim on my insurance. After all this, it turned out that it was quite clear, that her husband was told that this was General Liability insurance, and he signed it, and it was not until 32 days that it was made aware to us that this was a coverage not needed. Had it been within a week we would have had no problem getting our clients' money back, but more than a month later that we were made aware to the situation we were handcuffed.Unfortunately, there is nothing more we could do, and would not take money out my pocket to pay for a mistake that is turns out her husband made, if it even was a mistake. We often find that people willtry to pull stunts on us like this because they may have completed the job they needed the insurance for after a couple weeks and did not want to keep the insurance for the rest of the year, and try to convince us we made a mistake so that they can receive all of their money in a refund. This happens from time to time and is very frustrating to deal with, as it's the case with this current client. Unfortunately, when she provided proof that she was told they were different applications we could no longer give her the benefit of the doubt and would no longer refund her the money that she had claimed she was misled into giving us. This ultimately angered the client and led to one last email where she insulted me and my business once again.Hopefully this shines some light on what occurred. We will not be able to get a refund for the client as they carried the insurance for 32 days before anything was brought to our attention. Thanks, D[redacted]
