Order placed 7/23/order delivered 7/28/2016Mr [redacted] called us today to say that the pouch of paste included with his mural had somehow come open inside the packagingWe asked for pictures, which he sentThe picture shows the powdered paste hardened in the shape of the tube which would have been impossible unless the mural package had been set in about inches of waterIn the background the actual mural panels were still rolled up and visible and it was clear that there was water damage of about inchesThis would indicate that the package had been put in waterI am 100% certain it did not leave our warehouse like thatIf the brown cardboard outer box (he received it weeks ago) where to have had water damage when he received, to the extent necessary to have caused that damage inside layers of packaging, then I am certain he would have noticed that weeks agoAnd at that time we could have contacted ***Sometimes people receive an item from us and set it aside until they are ready to hang itUsually there is some home renovation or remodeling going on and they can get damaged in the meantimeIt is for that reason that we do ask customers to contact us within days of missing or damaged itemsThis is a common policy among most online retailersYou cannot call weeks after receiving an item and claim that it's now damaged somehowThis was explained very politely to Mr [redacted] who then began to launch a vulgar tirade at the representativeThese are just a few of the actual quotes from Mr [redacted] today"Go [redacted] yourself", "This is [redacted] buddy!", " [redacted] piece of st", "You ***in [redacted] ", "I'm going to call the Revdex.com on your [redacted] ***in company", " [redacted] Off!" to name just a fewWe sold Mr [redacted] a name brand item at the lowest price of any retailerWe shipped it immediatelyWe were patient beyond words when dealing with this customer, but sometime people are completely unreasonable and even abusive

The buyer states "we where moving into our new house at the time and its been days." Sometimes people receive an item from us and set it aside until they are ready to hang itUsually there is some home renovation or remodeling going on, or perhaps , as in this case, they are even moving to another home at the time and they can get damaged in the meantimeIt is for that reason that we do ask customers to contact us within days of missing or damaged itemsThis is a common policy among most online retailers

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
[redacted] 1)  I DID NOT trim the mural.  If they measured it when it was returned, it is exactly the 12' 1" wide x 8' 4" high.  2) They did not respond back upon receiving the mural back that they believed it was trimmed, provided their proof of that, and then stated because of that they would not refund the shipping cost.

[redacted] sent us an email a week after receiving his mural stating that there was a leaf missing from somewhere on the picture that he received. (This is a GIANT photograph of a waterfall that is surrounded by trees with many leaves). He stated that he taped it to his wall and even given the fact...

that he TAPED the entire mural to the wall and rendered it completely unfit for resale and had to be discarded, we STILL offered him a full refund if he sent it back. We received the mural back a few days later and applied a FULL refund to his credit card, including the original shipping cost. His complaint now is that we won’t send him a check for what it cost him to ship it back to us. Unfortunately, we cannot refund his return shipping cost for the following reason: We believe that [redacted] examined the mural on the floor and then after deciding it was good, trimmed the mural and taped it to his wall. We believe that after seeing the entire mural on his wall, he decided that either he trimmed it wrong or that maybe a giant waterfall was too much in such a “small apartment”, as he stated in his complaint, or both. And after reading the return instructions, came up with something about a leaf missing or something. And so now he claims that the image was blurry? If the picture were blurry as he is now claiming, then WHY DID HE TAPE THE ENTIRE THING TO LIVINGROOM WALL? And even after all that, we still gave him a full refund. It seems that he is now throwing everything he can out there, hoping that something will stick. There is a bright yellow sticker on the package that reads:" Lay each panel next to its matching panel. Look for good color and pattern match, and defects. If you find defects, please call 800-628-7134 BEFORE installing". It is NOT necessary to tape the entire mural to a wall to examine it. There are 8 pieces and all you need is an area on the floor that is 4 feet x 6 feet to "Lay each panel next to its matching panel". There is a very good reason that EVERY wallpaper store has the policy that you should examine the mural BEFORE hanging, is because sometimes people make installation errors such as trimming in the wrong place, which is what we believe [redacted] did. We have also had people use a mural as the backdrop for a photoshoot, or a trade show booth, or a party decoration, or as a backdrop for a one-day baptism event at a church, and then try to return it on Monday saying there was some “defect” that they "just noticed". THIS ITEM WAS SHIPPED TO A CHURCH.                                    ... And even after all that, we still gave him a full refund. We have sold this item for over 20 years in our wallpaper store and online and have NEVER had a complaint. The picture is NOT blurry as he now claims. If the picture were blurry as he is now claiming, then WHY TAPE THE ENTIRE THING TO YOUR LIVINGROOM WALL? This is a Komar mural which is a name brand sold in every wallpaper store in the world. It is sold on [redacted], and at many other trusted retailers. We sell it for 50% off the retail price. Here is an excerpt from our return policy found at http://justmurals.com/menu_customercare.html#ReturnsExchangesPolicy   "Unfortunately, we cannot refund shipping costs. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility."

Order placed 7/23/2016 order delivered 7/28/2016Mr [redacted] called us today to say that the pouch of paste included with his mural had somehow come open inside the packaging. We asked for pictures, which he sent. The picture shows the powdered paste hardened in the shape of the tube which would have...

been impossible unless the mural package had been set in about 4 inches of water. In the background the actual mural panels were still rolled up and visible and it was clear that there was water damage of about 4 inches. This would indicate that the package had been put in water. I am 100% certain it did not leave our warehouse like that. If the brown cardboard outer box (he received it 6 weeks ago) where to have had water damage when he received, to the extent necessary to have caused that damage inside 2 layers of packaging, then I am certain he would have noticed that 6 weeks ago. And at that time we could have contacted [redacted]. Sometimes people receive an item from us and set it aside until they are ready to hang it. Usually there is some home renovation or remodeling going on and they can get damaged in the meantime. It is for that reason that we do ask customers to contact us within 7 days of missing or damaged items. This is a common policy among most online retailers. You cannot call 6 weeks after receiving an item and claim that it's now damaged somehow. This was explained very politely to Mr [redacted] who then began to launch a vulgar tirade at the representative. These are just a few of the actual quotes from Mr. [redacted] today. "Go [redacted] yourself", "This is [redacted] buddy!", "[redacted] piece of st", "You [redacted]in [redacted]", "I'm going to call the Revdex.com on your [redacted]in company", "[redacted] Off!" to name just a few. We sold Mr [redacted] a name brand item at the lowest price of any retailer. We shipped it immediately. We were patient beyond words when dealing with this customer, but sometime people are completely unreasonable and even abusive.

Typically in cases where a customer makes an error when hanging their mural, such as trimming it wrong, mixing the paste wrong, prepping the wall wrong etc - we do not offer any type of refund at all. However in order to appease [redacted], after several phone calls and emails from him, we did give him a full refund. However, we will definitely not refund his shipping cost in this case. As far as we are concerned the matter is closed.
