We’d be happy to look at the cooler lines at the customers convenienceIf there’s factory workmanship or defect, we will do our part to get them coveredIf not, we would be open to a conversation about participating in payment. The vehicle unequivocally needed an engine mount which we put in per the customers consent. Once again, this is a vehicle with 170,000 plus miles on it. We are not willing to refund money for a repair that was necessary and requested. Although the customer declined extended coverage and this vehicle does not have any written or implied warranty, we would love to take care of the labor for no charge on the catalytic converter if the customer is willing to supply the part. We feel that to be more than a fair resolution and as suggested by the Revdex.com feel like we have moved to middle ground to try and take care of our guest. That is the best we are willing to offer and hope that this offer brings closure to the case.Tyson M[redacted]General ManagerMurdock Chevrolet

I am rejecting this response because:  This has nothing to do with the miles on the vehicle. That is not what we are having the problem with, again, Its the being misled to fix something that we were told would fix our main concern of the vehicle and did nothing. I only brought my car in to get the mount replaced because I was told by Murdock that it would fix the hesitation on the shift, otherwise I would have not done the repair and spent almost all that money on that and maybe would have spent it on what actually mattered to fix the problem of my car. If they wont refund and really want to get this closed on satisfactory note to the customer then instead of me coming up with $900 (that I don't have after spending on the mount that didn't fix anything) for the part and them doing the labor for free, then I would like them to fix the leak to the cooler lines.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: When we initially took it in when our issues started the people at their shop told us once we changed the engine mount we would no longer have that hesitation felt upon acceleration because the faulty engine mount made the engine drop and that's what made the hesitation on the vehicle. So the only reason we had them do that repair was because they said that would fix our major concern for the vehicle and after the repair was done the hesitation was still there and now we were told we had to do the catalytic converter to maybe fix it since the engine mount didn't fix it like they had told us. And if they fix the catalytic converter now in their own words "we have to rule it out to see if that's the problem or if we have an transmission problem causing the hesitation".  They even suggested we were better off trying to get into a new car since this car had so many issues popping up.  We are aware we bought a high mile car but that is not the problem here, the problem is they told us spending the $473 that the engine mount repair cost would fix the hesitation or hard shift on the vehicle and that simply was not true now and we are out of the money on a repair that Murdock said would fix our vehicle but did not.
Sincerely,

We are sorry to hear that the experience was less than perfect at our store. We do take our “No Regrets” policy very seriously and in ALL cases we want to extend our customers the benefit of the doubt and try to make things right any way we can. In full disclosure this vehicle had nearly...

170,000 miles on it at the time of purchase. It emphatically passed the state highway patrol safety test in its pre-delivery inspection. The customer took delivery in July as stated. It was heavily discounted to compensate for the high miles and multiple disclosure forms were signed where the customer acknowledged that there was some inherent risk in buying this vehicle. We did indeed fix an engine mount for the customer. The engine mount repair and the catalytic converter were identified as two separate issues and the customer chose to take care of the engine mount first. We did not suggest in any way that the repair of the engine mount would relieve the symptoms of the other problem. We offered to pay for ALL of the labor (in an effort to promote customer good will) on the catalytic converter even though the customer is 4-5 months removed from buying the truck. We feel like that is a very generous offer and one we are still willing to make good on.       Tyson M[redacted] General Manager Murdock Chevrolet 2375 S 625 W Woods Cross, UT 84087 W ###-###-#### F ###-###-####
