I contracted with Derek C., Murdock Home Repair to perform home repairs. I provided a check for $375 which was cashed and no service provided.
I contracted with Derek C., Murdock Home Repair to perform home repairs. I provided a check for $375 which was cashed and no service provided. H.H.R LLC is the business card provided with a license #, which has elapsed. Mr. C. is operating and advertising under an elapsed license.
I would like my money refunded.
Derek C. advertised on internet as 'screens done right? a company that apparently doesn't exist, offered services on Facebook marketplace. His estimate was given on paperwork identifying murdock home services as the company. Showed up and gave a estimate of $1300.00 dollars. This was to include a full rescreen of lanai with two door kits, and cage cleaning. Estimate was given and accepted on March 2 2019.
Derek and two others showed on March 5, over 2 hours later than stated. Got partly done, then showed up March 6 to finish. Mid afternoon he said he would be done in half hour. To clean the cage he used commercial quality chlorine sprayed on cage,and everywhere else, killing numerous plants and living the chlorine dripping all over everything. Was very hard on my lungs. Came in for pay, and I gave him a check for the full amount. Told me they would soon be done but would let me know before they left to check his work. Less than 2 minutes here his truck start and tear down the street. I then went out and tried to rinse some of the chlorine off the plants and windows and all over the new screen. After that walked around checking his work and found that he did a lot of shabby work and left my place far from the way it was guaranteed to be.
Far from 'screens done right'.! Killed half our plants with chlorine and tore a vine clean out of the ground. Both ends of the lanai were not even half splined. Top and sides. Down spout not reinstalled, and half the corner bracket screws not put back in and none of the cables retightened.
After numerous attempts to get him to come and finish the job, and getting all kinds of excuses why he didn't show up when he said he'd be back. Used the pictures of our home and plants for his advertising without permission and before he messed it all up.
What I would like is for him to finish all the screen work in the way it should be,in a timely way or refund $500.00 dollars to replace plants and so I can pay someone else to fix his mess.

Finish the job Needs to do all the splinting he didn't do. Fix places where he left gaps in the splining Replace the door kit that he didn't replace. Plants payed for that have already been replaced. Just want what I paid for and that he estimated and promised and guaranteed! And yes I do have his signed contract.
I do agree with the downspouts, I should have checked more thoroughly, as wells there was 4 acres still needed to be put back. However, the door kits were replaced and splinting was completed. Plants were checked and watered upon leaving. Were also intact upon leaving. Informed client I could not properly screen around vine and was informed it was ok to remove it. I have also told client I would come to fix any complaints although asked if he could work with me on a time frame due to my vehicle being down and him being 1 hour and 18 mins away. Client also came and looked at work completed before writing check. Screens done right is a slogan on ad not business name and was never promoted as business name. Pictures attached show finished work and all plants intact.

I'm not wondering anymore if this guy knows when he's lying, I know now he doesn't. If any other proof is needed I do have our phone messages. His numerous promises to return and fix things, blaming his partner, and all kinds of dishonesty. sending pics of the plants he watered with chlorine, the spline that wasn't put in, junk that he threw in the spouting. These pictures don't lie. 1 door kit that was kinda replaced with something he must have had laying around, the other not touched.
I replaced the downspout the corner brackets and all the screws that were either not replaced, or replaced with too small of a screw that they just pushed them in.
As I don't want this person on my property I would just want reimbursed for the plants I replaced and the amount I will have to pay someone to finish the job. I have had a professional estimate, and he said in all he's years in the business, never saw such sh...t.
Also for the record, he lied about me checking his work before paying him be cause he told me he had half an hour of work left and would check with me before he left. 2 minutes he's tearing out of the driveway. If this doesn't do anything else, I hope he learns from this and nobody else gets screwed by him
