This company stored physical media(CDs and vinyl records) and provided streaming access to the music online. They 'ceased operations' less than 3 weeks ago and are refusing to return property to the owners - basically ignoring any inquiries. The service advertised that account holders could have their property back anytime they want. The company claims that the property has been transferred to creditors. People want their property back.

Murfie operated a service that stored approximately 500 of my CDs for a monthly subscription fee. As part of this service, they also made digital copies of my CDs available for download. Murfie went out of business unexpectedly last week with no warning or explanation. They have told me that it will require several hundred dollars to return my property, and that they will be considered abandoned property if I do not pay up front. I find this resolution to be unsatisfactory, but I am not sure if any remediation is possible given the status of the company.

On Nov 21st of present year, they took down their website and just displayed a message about they had ceased operations. There was no previous warning about this from their side. I dropped them an e-mail but haven't responded. Currently they hold the physical CDs purchased through their platform and money (USD) in the form of credit to buy music. The same goes for all their users.

Deceitful practice/fraud is as follows: After paying for digital access and physical purchases of music through their website over a number of months,, digital access to purchases was removed arbitrarily and without prior notice, received communication (email) that says to regain access to my prior purchases I must now purchase a subscription for services I don't want in excess of $99/mo and wasn't previously required or agreed to for digital access.

My purchases through their website was for physical copies of albums (which they physically keep) with an agreement and understanding that murfie.com would make digital copies of the music simultaneously available for download as a part of the purchase (and for a fee that was paid per album to them).

Arbitrarily changing requirements *without any notice or agreement soughton being able to digitally access purchases at a later date by requiring additional undesired services (streaming/online player) be purchased through them is a deceitful practice and not honoring the original fees paid per purchase for digital access/download of the albums and results in a physical loss of the albums to murfie.com's possession (I purchased over 50 physical copies of CDs through murfie.com over months).

Attempts to communicate by email to clarify/resolve were met with what appears to be auto-generated FAQ responses and does not appear a person reads or responds.
