In the hope of resolving this issue to your satisfaction, we would like to offer you a refund of $7.00, 10% of the service call fee you have paid Any time a business is contracted to come to your home and provide a service, in this case, a diagnosis and estimate of repairs, it is certainly reasonable to expect there will be a charge for that trip This is not designed as a profitable venture, but only covers gas and travel time spent by the technician

We always regret when we have an unhappy customer, and you are no exception.
We do charge a service call to look at an appliance.  The cost of the service call covers the trip out to your home, the diagnosis, and the estimate for repairs.  It is not for any work which is or is not done...

to the unit, and you were not charged for anything except the service call.  That service call is always waived when repairs are done.  It takes a great deal of experience to diagnose the problem with most appliances.  Our technicians are continually going to classes to stay up on new features, new products and new methods of repair.  
A diagnosis is not something which can be properly done over the phone.  The customer service representatives in our office book the calls, but they are not trained to assess the problem.  That is what the technician does when he comes out to your home.   We never provide a diagnosis over the phone, because it would simply be a guess. Our 25 years of experience has clearly demonstrated that it would not be accurate or prudent for us to do so.   Our technicians are sometimes quick in their diagnosis.  They do this work every day, usually ten hours a day, six days a week, and they have years of experience.  They know exactly what to look for.  They are also very good about telling people whether or not they feel the cost of repairs is worth the investment in their unit, or if buying new would be more cost effective.

Review: I put down a deposit of $1,500 cash on Dec. [redacted] 2013. roduct was supposed to be delivered & installed in 6 weeks, as per written contract.

I have been trying for weeks to call for order status, but no one answers their phones & their voice mail boxes were always full.

I finally got thru & spoke to a woman on Tues, Feb **, 2014...she hurriedly stated that the owner was ill, they might shut down, they were moving & I should call back the same number on Friday. I've called, but now the phone just rings & rings.Desired Settlement: I would like the product I ordered, delivered & installed or a complete refund

At this time, I have not been contacted by Murphy Bed Co., Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted].

I tried numerous times to contact them, by phone & in person. Their phone number is now disconnected. I fear I will never recoup my $1,500 deposit. I have also filed complaints with Suffolk County Consumer Affairs, who have told me that there are now several complaints againt the Murphy Bed Co. I have also filed a complaint with the NYS Atty Gen's Office - Consumer Fraud Division. I will be filling out the complaint paperwork today to file a complaint with the Suffolk County District Atty's Office - Consumer fraud Division as well.

Review: We inadvertently paid twice for a Murphy bed - once on my Visa card when I ordered it ($1065) and the 2nd time by check when our [redacted] received the delivery invoice ($1065). On July **, 2013, I emailed the Murphy Bed Co about the double payments and the need for a refund of the duplicate payment. On August [redacted] 2013 when I followed up by telephone; the Murphy Bed Co. office said that they would refund the duplicate payment. The refund never came.

It became apparent over time and several phone calls, that the Murphy Bed Company was not going to send a refund. In December 2013, I asked for another Murphy bed in lieu of a cash refund. On January *, 2014, the Murphy Bed office told us that the bed would be shipped 1/**/2014. The Murphy Bed never came. I have called many time since August 2013. Now their phone number is not in service. They still have an active web site.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of my duplicate payment. In lieu of cash, I would accept another Murphy bed identical to the one we ordered originally.

I would appreciate learning if this business has filed for bankruptcy and where to go to file a claim.

I was pleased with the Murphy Bed we received, but we inadvertently paid twice for it. The Murphy Bed Company agreed with me and promised to refund my money, but didn't. They agreed to send another bed in lieu of a cash refund, but didn't.

Review: We purchased via master card a SL Calif. King 72 x 84 Murphy Bed on the 1/*/14 in the amount of 1,139.00 which was charge on 1/*/14 to our credit card. I have called, emailed and faxed looking for delivery. I have received no responses. I have called at least 5 times a day, faxed several times and email once a day. I called the chamber of commerence in thier location, which they are not a member, but they were nice enough to call them for me. They did answer for them and said they would call me, a week later they still have not called me. The next time they tried, they did not get a answer. I have filed a claim with our credit card company to try to recover our money. I can not get a response from them!!!!! They took our money but has not delivery the bed.Desired Settlement: I would like to get the company's money back.

Review: We ordered a bed on 7/**/2013. Paid a deposit of $950.00, balance to be paid on delivery. Invoice noted they were to hold bed until "End of October". Shortly before Oct [redacted], we received a call from the merchant for an additional payment of $1000.00. We declined to do so at that time. On Oct [redacted] there was an unauthorized charge to our credit card of $1000.00 by the company. To date we have left five messages, sent two emails, and faxed a request to contact us. NONE of these communications have resulted in the company contacting us.Desired Settlement: Give us our money back.
