On August 20, 2013 I paid a $500 retainer to Atty [redacted] at Murphy Desmond to review my separation agreement. The separation agreement was finalized and on September 20, 2013 I received an itemized statement from Murphy Desmond, indicating I had a credit balance of $104 "in trust." I emailed Mr. [redacted] on 9/20 and asked him to explain to me what "in trust" meant, but he never responded. On 9/27 I sent Mr. [redacted] another email stating that I did not anticipate needing his assistance for any further matters and wanted to be reimbursed for my $104 credit. He never responded. On 10/3 I sent Mr. [redacted] another email stating that I would appreciate a response from him regarding this matter; as of of 5:12 this afternoon, I still haven't heard from him. I needed their law firm for a one-time matter, the matter has been closed, and I want to receive a check for my $104 credit balance. They didn't hesitate to take my $500; the least they could do is send me my money (not to mention the courtesy of a reply to my emails).
