Murphy Lomon & Associates

This company purchases old debts and attempts to "collect" without regard to the validity of the debt. When challenged, they are stupid beyond credulity. DO NOT use this company for any reason. Do your homework folks. We had to stop doing business with a finance company because they are selling aged files en masse. My guess is that there is a criminal element to this as they are unable to explain themselves adequately or present documentation to back up their collections. In the face of failure they resort to stupid and predictable phrasing.

Murphy Lomon is a licensed Debt & Capital Equipment Recovery Firm. We represent clients who are owed money or the return of our client's equipment, so we attempt to collect same. All complaints are from individuals who claim money is not owed or equipment was returned. In all... these cases our clients claim money is due and or equipment has not been returned. This always leaves Murphy Lomon in the middle, yet MLA is the entity that these un-founded claims are filed against. To the BBB - How can that process end??? This has been discussed with your representatives in the past who have indicated they understand. In this case Murphy Lomon contacted the complainant to request the return of scan equipment which she had received as a voluntary member of the National Consumer Panelist Program. Our client informed MLA that no return was made in spite of her claims that it was. Therefore our client asks MLA to remind these Panelists that the value of the equipment is $200.00 which they would be liable for. NO $200.00 CHARGE WAS EVER MADE TO THE COMPLAINANT SO NO CREDIT IS DUE. These charges are NEVER billed to anyone. In the written instructions for the return of the scanner sent with the unit, as well as our verbal return instructions to them - all returns are requested via Federal Express and a prepaid return label is furnished. This allows our client to track the return shipment. However the complainant sent the unit back via the postal service (USPS) and therefore no tracking was possible. That is why our client insists they never received the unit back. Our client NCP Homescan has informed us to close our file with no further efforts to retrieve the equipment. Our file is closed & no further contacts were made.Murphy Lomon requests this complaint be closed immediately.Thank youThank you
