10/7/[redacted] came to my office wanting three non-restorable teeth removedThis appointment was on 7/and was billed as an emergency exam [redacted] had two insurances which were Delta Dental and WelfareWe accept Delta Dental but we DO NOT accept Welfare [redacted] was informed there would be$co-pay for the removal of three teeth from her primary insuranceThe patient had to save the money to get the job done[redacted] returned to the office 9/2/to have the procedure doneAgain she stated she had two insurancesThey were Aetna and WelfareShe was informed we do not accept, WelfareWe are preferred providers for AetnaA copay of $for the extraction of three teeth, and it would have to be paid prior to the procedureShe paid the $and we removed the teeth.Her insurance paid the claim and her copay was $In return, she has a $credit at Murphy's Family DentistryI would gladly refund her overpayment $20.00.In September, I go to my yearly vacationUpon returning, [redacted] called the office wanting a check for $and a claim submitted to welfareAgain she was told we are not a provider for Welfare and therefore cannot send a claimWelfare will not pay Murphy's Family DentistryI made it clearI would not refund her copay of $I asked Nancy to relay the message.Later that evening, [redacted] was in my office demanding a refund check and wanted a claim submitted to WelfareI told her I could not deal with her dilemma right nowI would call her later in the evening.As it turns out, Nancy produced a statement, as per ***'s request, for her to submit to her secondary insuranceShe was trying to recoup her copay from WelfareMurphy's Family Dentistry cannot assist in her request, because we are not a part of her secondary insurance system.The phone call to explain the situation of not being a preferred provider for Welfare became an attack by three people on a speaker phoneI heard ***'s, her mother's and her father's voices being very aggressive about me owing [redacted] moneyIn addition, being threatened, that the father was "coming up there"The phone call ended with "you will have to deal with the insurance and doubling ".To finalize, Murphy's Family Dentistry Incis not a provider for any state insurances and therefore is not capable to receive payment from any state insurance or submit a claim to a state insuranceMurphy's Family Dentistry Inccannot help beyond this point with [redacted] 's attempt to recoup her copay.Thank You,Patrick VM [redacted] DMD
