Murphy's Motor Sports Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] I did take the car back to the shop. The owner (Brain Murphy) looked at the car and confirmed my complaints, The owner, Brian Murphy stated, he was aware of the inferior workmanship, incorrect parts installed, parts did not fit etc.... when he originally told me the car was fixed and to come and it up.  He did confirm, the damage to the fender. He confirmed he thought he fixed the issue as to why I took it to the shop in the first place. The battery was over charging, boiling over batteries and the volt meter on the dash was bouncing from 14 to 11 volts. Clearly, the issue was not corrected by Murphys Motor Sports even after 3 1/2 days in the shop, replacing parts, rewiring and hours of labor and diagnostic charges. Murphys stated, he would not take responsibility for damages to my car. Murphys stated, he would not refund the money I paid to his shop and said he has no problem with seeing me in court. The inferior work his mechanic did do will need to be redone at another shop to make the car reliable and safe. Again, the reason I took the car to Murphys Motor Sports was due to the fact the car had an electrical problem.  Again, as stated previously, I took the car elsewhere and the electrical issue was detected and resolved within 20 minutes. Simple fix.

Revdex.com spoke with the business. The customer has done a charge back with the bank the business can't address a refund while this is on going. Review: Went to shop, explained in detail the history & issues having with my auto. schuduled. took car in at 9:00 a.m Tuesday. Called late in the day & was told auto electrical had been tested & diagnosed. Alternator not working. Required replacement, cost $153.00. Found this odd, alternator just tested local alternator shop been in business over 40 years. But, if that the problem as they stated & would solve problem, I said ok. Called shop late next day told car being worked on,someone call me back. No call back, I called back. Told the alternator replaced but now shop want to do more testing & diagnostic electrical . someone would call me tomorrow & update me. Next day, day 3, Called late in the day & was told the car being worked on, someone call me back. After 1.5 hours, no call back, Called shop, told car was all fixed. Pick it up. Was billed / charged nearly $500 for alternator part and 4 hours of labor, testing & diagnostic work. Seemed odd, car in the shop 3 full days & worked on only 4 hours. Paid, got in the car & drove five minutes up road & entire electrical system shut down. Able to start, headed back to shop. Electrical system complete shut down multiple times way back to shop.made it. Talked to owner Brian told him of problems & drivers seat broken when I got in. Said would work on car tomorrow. Day 4. Went shop noon time. Was told, mechanic drove car around, could not find anything wrong. I took the car up road to small shop. Was a reason volt meter on dash was always bouncing up & down 3 volts. Mechanic & myself in 20 minutes located problem & fixed. Back to Murphys Motor Sports, talked with Brian owner. Claimed did nothing wrong, not responsible for anything & felt good about situation. Did say, had car to long was busy fixing other cars as they came in. Really, one fried alternator, 3.5 days, 4 hours "testing & diagnostics", parts & car still is not fixed. Shop did not fix problem. Shop did not disclose my cost would be except alternator $153, actually charged me more. ok?Desired Settlement: Refund of money paid the the shop.Shop to pay for cost to repair drivers seat and cleaning, damages to front fenders.
