Murray and I entered into a time and materials contract to rewire my house's electric He said he should be able to complete the job in the time to have it cost $ We did a time and materials contract because he said it could possibly save me money He said some of the house had already been rewired, but he could not tell how much until he started the job Murray, rarely came to the house to work, he sent two guys that worked for him They took forever He had said it would take a week or so to finish the job After weeks, I called him to ask what was going on and what he was going to do about the bill He said he would not "stick" me with the bill, because they were taking too long After several more weeks, they finished the job Two weeks after that, he emailed me his quote He wanted $ I refused After several more weeks of this hanging over my head, I talked him down to $ One thousand dollars over the initial quote, and many weeks too late I only agreed to the $to have this over with before I started school and so I could focus on my new baby I want this in the record in case he does this to someone else Also, for what it is worth, if time and materials contracts are illegal in this state for a job like that, I would like to know

We did a time and materials contract because he said it could possibly save me money. He said some of the house had already been rewired, but he could not tell how much until he started the job. Murray, rarely came to the house to work, he sent two guys that worked for him. They took forever. He had said it would take a week or so to finish the job. After 3 weeks, I called him to ask what was going on and what he was going to do about the bill. He said he would not "stick" me with the bill, because they were taking too long. After several more weeks, they finished the job. Two weeks after that, he emailed me his quote. He wanted $6900. I refused. After several more weeks of this hanging over my head, I talked him down to $4400. One thousand dollars over the initial quote, and many weeks too late. I only agreed to the $4400 to have this over with before I started school and so I could focus on my new baby.
I want this in the record in case he does this to someone else. Also, for what it is worth, if time and materials contracts are illegal in this state for a job like that, I would like to know.
