Muscle Car Alley Reviews (4)

Back in November, 2014, I had a spark plug blow out of my ford f250 v10 6.8L. I took it to Muscle car alley which by the way has moved to Barham dr in San Marcos. To make a very long story short. I had them rebuild my engine. Bad Mistake. I had to return the truck roughly 8 times before they got it right. so from November to April of 2015 is how long it took for them to properly finish. I actually had to take my truck to Ford service to have them tell me that the timing chain was off by a tooth, before muscle car got the engine light to go away. they had to completely open back up the job they did to redo the chain. Also, not to mention, the countless leaks I had them repair and countless misleading comments about its your problem now etc and that its probably a bad sensor. I ended up spending roughly 700 extra on all those sensors they claimed was my problem and in the end Ford showed them who the real boss is. [redacted], the owner even admitted to me that he doesn't even really know Ford trucks that well. My mouth dropped after all that, to hear a comment like that. [redacted] told me he is not the owner anymore and that [redacted] has taken over just to get me off his back. Well, I called the Bureau of auto repair and they infact told me that [redacted] is still the owner! LIARS!!!!!!
So a year goes by and I had a leak pop up from my manifold. seems like an easy fix for a muscle car shop. Think again, [redacted] could not figure out what was wrong and so I had to take it to ford again. ford said their was some loose spark plugs and found 2 time certs installed on the heads muscle car replaced...uhhhhh so that means the heads they gave me were crappy heads and have band aids of time certs for the spark plugs in 2 holes on the engine. In the end, with all my patience and trust in these guys. I still was let down again. I just left the shop today and he didn't give me a receipt and would not issue a warranty for his work and I drove down the street and still have a leak. Thank God I refused to pay him for not issuing a warranty, cause I would have lost that money for nothing. Don't use these Guys, They will Lie, and sometimes do absolutely nothing and tell you your good to go. They sub out their work to unknown shops as well, I had to confront that other guy personally as well, many scratches, and missing rubber door bumpers, they forget to put my hood light back everytime I brought it in, and that's just the little stuff... they also have no consumer signs posted for the customers to read which is 100 percent illegal in California. these guys do not have it together. Most of the team that I have seen working there look like Tweaker drug addicts in my opinion. Their are many other shops in SoCal That will blow these guys away. Ifyou want it done right the first time don't trust Muscle car alley!!!!!!!

Review: To Whom It May Concern,My wife and I have spent the better part of two years trying to complete a frame-off restoration of my 1972 Oldsmobile 442. The business has been uncooperative, unreliable, and uncommunicative during the entire restoration process. The project has cost my wife and I over $80,000 with little-to-no reassurance of the timeline or incidental costs along the way. The owner refuses to answer his phone calls, dotes on unreliable (at best) employees, and accepts sub-standard workmanship as his own. The entire restoration process has proven to be an emotional, financial, and personal burden for both my wife and me since the day that the car was received. More importantly, my father (Colonel, USMC, Ret.) has spent 100s of wasted trips to the business during the work week to check the progress of the 442, only to find that the doors were closed without notice. Moreover, when discussing options for the project, the owner becomes hostile, quarrelsome, and non-committal. Finally, the owner refused to sign a contract outlining the time and scope of the project on countless occasions. As a U.S. Marine, law-abiding citizen, and muscle car enthusiast, I do not recommend his services or business for future clients. Our Nation and citizens deserve better. Respectfully and Humbly Submitted,Captain [redacted], USMCDesired Settlement: Monetary compensation for the difference in parts and labor in order to finish the restoration elsewhere.

Review: To Whom It May Concern I dropped off my wife’s college car, a 1966 mustang convertible, at Muscle Car Alley the beginning of July 2014. [redacted] and his team were initially very cooperative and jumped on tearing the car apart and starting the top to bottom restoration. The body work they performed was fantastic and they put a nice paint job on the car. Then things got bad and virtually zero progress has been made in the last year. I have spent $50,000 and basically have a new paint job with terrific body work. Unfortunately, that is only worth $15,000 max. Now all I get is broken promises and stories about the crate motor being delivered any day now. The owner , [redacted], has hired [redacted] to answer his phone calls and handle inquiries from customers. [redacted] is great and wants to do good, unfortunately, he is not in charge. The entire restoration process has proven to be an emotional, financial, and personal burden for both my wife and me since the day that the car was received. Also, , my brother in law, an master mechanic in the area, has spent many wasted trips to the business during the work week to check the progress of the car, only to find nothing has been done since the last visit. So now I am looking for another company to finish the work that Muscle Car Alley started. I do not recommend his services or business for future clients. You are better served looking around for someone else. Regards, The Husband Restoring His Wife’s College Dream CarDesired Settlement: driving off with a completely restored car
