I have been going back and forth with an Internet sales associate at Muzi Ford in Needham, Ma for a new explorer. They sold the one we had been talking about so the Internet associate said they could get another from a different dealer if I liked. I picked one from another South Shore Ford dealer and sent the associate the link to the window sticker and the location, asked him if he could do that one for the same price and retyped the price to be sure. He says twice that it seemed reasonable and once that they would work hard to do the deal and that his manager was willing to do deals before the end of the month. I get there today they don't even have the car, had no intention on getting it. Then a different salesman asked the Internet associate if he told me I could have the car for the agreed price and he at this time said no, despite his emails that I had with me, yet all employees of Muzi refused to view. The salesman then tried to sell me one off the lot that was more money and said they never agreed to the price. This car also had a sold sign on it but he said they had not paid yet so he could resell it to me. When I asked about the one from the other dealership he said they could get it if that's what I wanted, which it was and had already been discussed and agreed upon via Internet. The sales manager became upset when I asked for them to honor the price that they agreed to online. He stated his car was more money so he could not, I never even wanted that car they were trying to sell me when I arrived. When I tried to show the email to them from their internet sales associate they said he's not authorized to make the deal and that they'd have a conversation with him. They said they wouldn't get the car from another dealer and I could not have that price bc their car was 1400$ higher. I said what about our deal in the email the sales manager said I don't care about that. After continuing to push his more expensive car on me and not being interested in honoring his associates agreement on either the vehicle or the price I left the dealership. This took more than two hours out of my day and cost me money for child care only to find out there was never a deal for the car they agreed to, they pushed a more expensive car on me for no deal. I would like to report this so that other working parents, or anyone else spend their time believing the discussions they have with these associates are anything more than idle chatter.
