This in response to to the complaint on the floorI have been doing this for over years and have never had a complaint like this so I don't know how this worksI certainly did leave room for expansion on this floor, but a laminate floor seldom has any movement unless moisture becomes involvedI tried to explain this to him but he did not want to listen, just said it was installed wrongThen I asked him where it buckled, and he said by the washing machine and laundry sink, which is in the corner of a very large areaAn area of about ftby ftor soSo I said are you sure the washing machine or sink didn't leak or overflow, and he said no you just didn't leave room for expansionIf that was the case how come only by the washer, no where else in this large areaI've been doing this long enough to know he wasn't willing to listen to anything I said, I tried to explain the moisture issue in a couple of different conversations, not worth going back to argue about it

As I stated before, he was not willing to listen to even the possibility of a water or moisture issue, only that I installed it wrongI left plenty of room for expansionHe stated that I took it out of a cold truck and installed it and did not let it acclimateThat is not the caseI had it in my warm house for the weekend before and before that it was in a warm storeI put it on a cool cement floor, if anything it should have shrunk a little bit after I put it downAnd again, Laminate floors are not like wood floors, they don't move much at all unless water or moisture becomes involvedFunny how in this very large basement area the only part of it that is having a problem is by the washer, dryer and utility sinkThere could have been a leak or an overflow,or something like that, and if it got under the floor, you wouldn't see it, but it would make it do thatCertainly not my fault and I suspect that is the caseI tried to explain all this and it was getting me nowhere, he just kept saying no, no, no you installed it wrongI did not!!! Not worth the hassle Regards, Mike

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I have asked the contractor M&W Remodelers to come over to view the problem.  At first he said he was going to come over, but he never showed.  After he never showed, he stopped returning my calls.  Just because it buckle in the area of the washing machine, doesn't mean that the washing machine was leaking.  It is not leaking.  After I read the manufacturer installation instruction, I know that they didn't follow the installation instructions.  The didn't allow the floor material to acclimate to the room temperature as stated in the instructions.  They brought the floor material into my basement on a cold December day and installed it immediately.  When the temperature increases during the warmer months, the floor expanded and started to buckle.  When I contacted the floor manufacturer, they stated it appears the installer didn't leave enough room for the floor to expand. The contractor should have come to see the problem instead of wrongly stating it was caused by a leak.  There is no leak.  It is an expansion problem due to improper installation. The contractor needs to fix the problem or reimburse me money (I estimate about $400) to have someone else fix their improper installation.  Regards,  [redacted]

As I stated before, he was not willing to listen to even the possibility of a water or moisture issue, only that I installed it wrong. I left plenty of room for expansion. He stated that I took it out of a cold truck and installed it and did not let it acclimate. That is not the case. I had it in my warm house for the weekend before and before that it was in a warm store. I put it on a cool cement floor, if anything it should have shrunk a little bit after I put it down. And again, Laminate floors are not like wood floors, they don't move much at all unless water or moisture becomes involved. Funny how in this very large basement area the only part of it that is having a problem is by the washer, dryer and utility sink. There could have been a leak or an overflow,or something like that, and if it got under the floor, you wouldn't see it, but it would make it do that. Certainly not my fault and I suspect that is the case. I tried to explain all this and it was getting me nowhere, he just kept saying no, no, no  you installed it wrong. I did not!!! Not worth the hassle.  Regards,  Mike

This in response to to the complaint on the floor. I have been doing this for over 30 years and have never had a complaint like this so I don't know how this works. I certainly did leave room for expansion on this floor, but a laminate floor seldom has any movement unless moisture becomes...

involved. I tried to explain this to him but he did not want to listen, just said it was installed wrong. Then I asked him where it buckled, and he said by the washing machine and laundry sink, which is in the corner of a very large area. An area of about 30 ft. by 20 ft. or so. So I said are you sure the washing machine or sink didn't leak or overflow, and he said no you just didn't leave room for expansion. If that was the case how come only by the washer, no where else in this large area. I've been doing this long enough to know he wasn't willing to listen to anything I said, I tried to explain the moisture issue in a couple of different conversations, not worth going back to argue about it.
