My Car Shop

I'm a mechanic myself, but I took my truck into this shop to get tires mounted and an alignment, as my shop does not have an alignment rack. Not knowing that I am a mechanic, they tried to sell me unnecessary parts that had just been replaced 2 days prior. They were specifically told to NOT change the steering box and without consent they began work on the truck. They changed the steering box (using the incorrect box) and broke the clock spring in the steering column in the process.. Which they attempted to charge me for. They bill ended up being just under $1,600. When confronted with proof that they had made mistakes, they avoided any further communication, I told them to put all of the original parts back on the truck and when I went to pick it up, they gave me a cheap replacement clock spring and told me to do it myself. I took the truck into a different shop and they put a factory replacement clock spring in the truck. I then took the bill for the replacement to My Car Shop and they refused to pay it and won't refund me the almost $900 that I paid out of pocket to the shop that fixed my truck correctly..for My Car Shop's mistake breaking the clock spring.Product_Or_Service: MechanicDesired SettlementI would like My Car Shop to pay for the repairs on the parts that they broke. Business Response [redacted] came into My Car Shop demanding a refund and the part in question. we agreed to refund and supply the part, this was at his reqest. we explained to him we are doing this with no admission of guilt. He cashed the check and took the new part. 1 week later he came back into My Car Shop demanding and threatening that we needed to pay him more money. We already paid his 1st demand and did not want for this to continue. We are now being extorted by means of fraud. he has left reviews on the internet claiming he has recorded phone conversations. he has committed a class 4 felony by doing so. he also claims litigation is pending. My Car Shop has filed a police report for harassment and extortion. We will be filling a civil case for Fraud, wire taping and slander. Thank You
