Thank you for reaching out regarding complaint # [redacted] Although your e-mail states that you have attempted to contact us previously, this e-mail is the first from your organization that I have received on this matter, I assure you, had I Been aware, I would have responded immediatelyThe adoption in question took place on February 4, Our contract clearly states that the adoption charge is a non-refundable fee made payable to our non-profit animal rescueThe adopter selected [redacted] , a 2-year old cattle dog mix from Last Chance Animal Rescue's adoption center located within the Alexandria, Virginia***She returned [redacted] to our home base in Waldorf, Maryland on February 6, When the adopter returned [redacted] , she requested a refundOur associate, Nikki, reminded her that the adoption contract clearly states that adoption fees are non-refundableHowever, she explained to the adopter, that she was able to petition the Board of Directors for an exception, under the circumstancesThe adopter was not happy with this option and Subsequently called the rescue several times, speaking with multiple employees in the rescue's officesShe cursed and threatened each one and actually said that she would "come down there and get my money or else”Each person explained that she only had to write a request, as we do not keep funds on hand after the adoption is completedShortly thereafter, she posted a negative review on Last Chance Animal Rescue's [redacted] pageDespite being provided all the information on our organizational procedures, it appears the adopter has instead elected to slander Last Chance Animal Rescue at every turn.Thank you, Cindy S [redacted]
