My Exteriors Reviews (%countItem)

Subsequent to the hail storm of June 2017, a My Exteriors sales person was going door to door in Red Wing looking to replace roofs. They were available to start within a couple of weeks and they had good credentials and especially as a GAF Certified contractor. The job was completed August 2, 2017. In May of 2019 after heavy rain, my ceiling in the back entry was leaking with water running through two recessed lights. After a couple of calls, the owner came down to check the roof. He said he owned a home in Lake City, MN only 20 miles from us. He checked out the roof and said he may have found something that caused the leak. A week or so later there was still water coming through one light and when he came back he said he found a gap in the shingles which he repaired. No leaking occurred until a heavy rain in September and when I called he said I should file a claim with my Insurance Co since it was likely storm damage. I told him with my deductible the insurance would likely not kick in, and he had never indicated in the past that there was storm damage. He then texted me and said I should find someone to tarp the roof, but I was unable to find anyone who would do it. He has subsequently refused to reply to my text messages. Also, the roof contract included 269' of heavy duty, high quality eave covers. The rain had been running down the windows in the back of my house, and when I finally had someone come to look at the eaves, they determined the eave covers on the back of the house were cheap and badly installed. I had to replace 82' of eave covers to the tune of $820. I appears the eaves that were done on the front and side were done properly. I texted the owner and asked who the installer was and he did not respond.

My Exteriors completed all work per insurance scope in 2017, including 279FL of gutter toppers. We also upgraded Mrs *** roofing shingles to a 50 year material warranty at no charge. My Exteriors was notified of a leak at Mrs *** property in May of 2019 of a leak. Upon going to the residence we noticed a lifted shingle in the area of the described leak. Our company sealed the shingle down and notified the homeowner that there was a lifted shingle most likely due to the severe storm that came through that day. My exteriors has and does honor its warranty however storm related damage (even if a second time) is not a warrantable fix and must go through homeowners insurance. This seemed to take care of the problem short term. In July of 2019 Mrs *** had called again stating her roof had been through many rains events since we sealed up the wind blown shingle for her but it appears to be leaking again. At this time My Exteriors staff explained that the best course of action is to have the insurance company out to inspect for recent storm damage (for May and July 2019).

My Exteriors completed whole house vinyl siding. I am very satisfied with the results. I had many peaks and details in my siding, and everything was completed beautifully. I would recommend My Exteriors Inc to anyone. There is also a website to try out colors and siding choices.

On 5-8-18 I signed a contract for this company to repair hail damaged shingles, siding, etc. on my home. I was told at the time that the shingles would be replaced soon and the siding taken care of" in a few weeks". I told them up front that I would be selling this home in the fall and was assured that the work would be done by then. In good faith I gave them a personal check for $1000 and signed over the full insurance check in the amount of $29068. The shingles were replaced months ago, but over 6 months later, can't get the siding replacement taken care of. I have talked with Rick (company owner and scheduler) several times and twice have been told that I'm next on the list and will be starting next week, and then nobody shows up. When I contact Rick again weeks later, he always has a different excuse i.e " its been too hot, too cold, the siding will be discontinued, he's down to one crew". The estimate for the shingle replacement alone was $15,483. I suggested that Rick reimburse me for the siding portion of the insurance money. He said he cant do that because at this point the company is "underwater" with my house. That is very difficult for me to believe. On 10-17-18, I talked with Rich (the salesman I signed the original agreement with) and asked him if I were a brand new client today, how long would you tell me I had to wait before the siding would be replaced on my home and he said" I'd tell you 1 month". I also asked Rich if the siding crew works all winter and he said that they did.On 10-17-18 I talked to Rick, he said there was a house in CR that was ahead of me and would take about 1.5 weeks to complete and then I was next. I called Rick on 11-26, and asked him about my house and when they planned on starting. He dodged the question, and said some people choose to wait to have siding done til next spring. I told him that I am not willing to wait and want the siding done ASAP. This has really messed up my plans to sell my house!

Few issues. (1) the work was never complete per the contract signed. We would like the remaining balance refunded by the contractor, who was the one who gave us a written response of work cancellation and also written response of liability to refund the remaining amount owed to us.
(2) Front door replacement wasn't completed, and is now in need of replacement under warranty due unfinished trim work, no caulking to prevent rot, exposed wood left unsealed and seals failing causing drafts. (3) poor workmanship on other repairs and finishes including shake siding and maintenance free garage door wrap

My parents wanted me to say that they are pleased with the work that my exteriors
performed putting on A new roof on their home.

Great experience! Professional, prompt, accomidating, friendly! Highly recommend them!

We had our roof replaced last fall, 2017. My Exteriors advised us on new building codes that applied to our roof and completed them accordingly. The workers did a very good job, roof looks great. They also did a very good job of cleaning up the yard.

HORRIBLE. PLEASE READ........Rick M and "his" company, My Exteriors are awful people. What started with a referral to have new windows/doors and siding installed, turned into a nightmare from day one with the first piece of siding put up. It continued to get worse. What should have taken 1 week took over 3 years and thousands of $ in attorney fees and lost wages for us is finally resolved. The windows were installed wrong (had to be taken out and had to buy 2nd set of new) siding was never flashed around the windows so we ended up with water damage (had to gut our master bath and daughters room) their ladder jacks put holes in our singles with they covered with a big blog of caulking with telling us they damaged them. We asked My Exteriors to come and get the junk windows, he ignored us and now we have to pay to have them tossed out. We actually had to go to court, we had to take time off of work to meet with our attorney, the judge etc., He will shake your hand, smile, promise you a great job, take your money and SCREW you over!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. He gives good contractors a very bad name.
