My First Car

Review: Purchased a vehicle back in August of 2012. Took vehicle to my mechanic after the sale and he told me it was basically totaled from the rust that was found on the bottom of the Jeep. Took pictures of the undisclosed damage to the Jeep to an attorney, but I was informed that the papers that I signed at the time of sale did not cover the damage that was found. Told the dealer the problem that was found, and he told me that all he could do was to refer me to a friend of his to fix the damage, but I would be responsible for the repairs.Desired Settlement: I realize I made a mistake in not properly inspecting the vehicle prior to the sale, as I took the dealers word that it was a good buy. I would just like it to be on record that anyone from out of state that is thinking of buying a car from this dealer should have it looked over my a licensed mechanic outside of New Jersey before buying, as the rules for passing inspection are more strict in other states than that of New Jersey. I also realize that this complaint is well over a year old, but all things I tried to do to recoup the money I lost is still documented not only in pictures, but also my complaint to my attorney. Basically, this dealer is not to be trusted. I was duped into buying an inferior Jeep that was so badly rusted he put me and my family in jeopardy of getting injured while driving in it. I admit my stupidity in making this deal the way I did by putting faith in someone I didn't know. I don't want to see the same thing happen to someone else.

Review: We purchased a 2004 Ford Freestar from My First Car. The night before we purchased it the van seemed to be having some issues (it seemed to be having a problem staying running) [redacted] the salesman asked that we give until the next day to figure what the problem was. When we returned the next morning he replaced the battery. The van started and seemed to run fine. So we assumed the issue was the battery. As we were getting ready to purchase the van the lock in third row seat stabilizer fell out under the car due to rust. WE told him it was not a deal breaker and we would take care of getting that fixed. We purchased the car and drove it for a week. That was a Saturday. The next Sunday morning I got into the van and started it and the van would not stay running. It stalled twice and then my husband tried to start it again and it would not start. The car place is not open on Sundays so we had to wait until Monday. We called My First Car and were told to call the Warranty Company. I called the Warranty Company and was told to have the car towed to a mechanic and have them contact the Warranty Company. The problem with the van is not covered under the warranty that was given to us with the van. [redacted] of My First Car has told us that he is not responsible for any repairs on the van. WE only owned the van for 1 week and the problem seems to be the same problem that the van was having the night before we purchased the van. We have not even received the paperwork on the van and this is 3 weeks after purchasing the van. When I spoke to a mechanic in the ares he stated that we are not thr first people that this place has done this to. [redacted] is now tryig to have us pay $75.00 an hour for a mechanic to look at the van and us pay to have it fixed.Desired Settlement: We would like our vehicle to be repaired. We only had the vehicle 1 week.
