My Granite Man Reviews (%countItem)

In November 7, 2018, my wife and I agreed to a contract with Jennings M to redo our upstairs bathroom. That included, taking the tub out, cabinets, floor, toilet, etc. Replacing with a new shower, electrical, plumbing, floor, cabinets, etc.Things went well at first but soon after January 2019 dependability fell off. No show. Day after day promised to show up, no word. I would hate to estimate how many days either my wife or I waited after hearing he would be there tomorrow and , no show. Continued texts, promises and unreturned phone calls. I have a picture of our commode sittings on our patio for almost 9 months. We had to pay to have the debris carried off so we could use the garage. Fortunately we were able to find someone to complete the bathroom. No one wants to take on a mess that we were left with. The last message I sent Jennings was on October 8, 2019 stating the bathroom was finally complete and I would like to talk to him about a settlement. Never heard a word.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) We had to pay approximately $4000.00 to have the job completed. I feel Jennings owes us that at least. I assume little can be obtained for the many lies and days waiting and promises.

I can't tell you how much your contacting Jennings M has helped. He has made contact we us. Prior to your contacting him we coild not get a response.
I am sending him some updated cost. He claims to be broke. If he is I may need a suggestion on how to handle that.

Customer Response • Feb 17, 2020

Thank you again for your assistance. I have sent Jennings the invoices we paid to complete his unfinished work. It has been almost two weeks with no word.
Please push him one more time.
Thank you

In April 2018 we contracted with Mr M to install two bathroom and one kitchen granite countertop project. We paid for the granite directly to the granite supplier (Best Cheer Granite) via Mr M on April 16, 2018. M took possession of the granite from the granite supplier. After numerous phone texts with M, the two bathroom granite vanity countertops were installed in November 2018. Continuing texts, promises, unreturned phone messages and the kitchen granite has not yet been installed. We are ELEVEN MONTHS into this project with no resolution.
Product_Or_Service: Installation of granite

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) We would ideally like to have the kitchen granite countertops installed ASAP OR be reimbursed by M for the amount we paid for the granite now in his possession ($2225.60).

Re: Complaint against Mr ***,
Mr ***, ***-Granite and Marble,
*** SC XXXXX
We wish to file a complaint against Mr ***, a granite contractor who operates his business in Columbia county.
We seek your help and assistance in resolving this dispute. Mr *** gave us a contract and has left our home in chaos for over 2 months and has never showed up to our home despite making promises and sending false text messages and appointments. He has taken a deposit from us and has paralyzed our home. His workers spent one day in early May and left sink danging and broken in our home for over 2 months ago,
After pleading with him on numerous occasions and without any avail, we were left with little option to seek additional help with other contractors and have just managed to restore the sink and other plumbing just this week, i.e. after nearly 3 months.
Given Mr ***'s belligerent stance, and his refusal to honor the contract or return to our home to complete the contract he gave us and for which he received down payment, as our county's law enforcement authority, we ask your to please help us. We ask that Mr *** pay us for all the costs incurred with fixing the damaged kitchen sink and the reconnection charges, and help to reimburse us for legitimate expenses incurred. This does not include the costs of the enormous hardship and suffering caused to us for Over 3 months.
Sincerely
*** SC ***

Chronology of events with contractor Mr ***, *** McabeeGranite and Marble, ***, McCormick, SC 29.835
April 11th, 2017: Mr *** visited us on April 11th,2017 and informed us that he would remove our current sink and replace this with a new *** sink and because of the unusual shape of our kitchen sink, he would cut a piece of granite and replace it with another matching piece. This seemed reasonable approach, as we have been unable to replace the sink as the company has stopped
manufacturing this type of sink for nearly 15 years. Mr *** sent us a contract for $2419.29, for completing this project.
April 17th, 201: we signed the contract (enclosed). As per agreement, we paid him 50% of the cost upfront and gave him check for $1300.00.
May 10, 2017; Mr. workers came to our home. They brought a new sink to our home. They disconnected all the plumbing from the sink, disconnected the dishwasher, the grinder and our reverse osmosis drinking water system. They could not figure out how to remove the sink itself and in the process banged on the sink and cracked it and further damaged and cracked our sink (photo enclosed) by hitting it hard with sledge hammer, causing dents and damaged the undersurface of the sink.
May 12th, 2017: Mr. sent Mrs *** a text, saying that the sink he ordered and which was in our home "won't work", as it was the incorrect size. He was looking for an alternative product, and he was going to *** that day to sort it out and call us back which he never did. Several days passed, no calls were returned and Mr *** refused to answer our calls.
May 20, 2017 Eventually Dr *** called him on May 20' and he took the call stating that he was at a funeral and he was going immediately to *** to order a new sink and will have everything taken care of in a couple of days. Again, no trace of him and 2 days later, Mrs *** texted him repeatedly and called him, at least 6 times over 2-3 days, he did not respond. Subsequently Dr *** called a few times and left messages on his answering phone and he did not respond to any of our calls or messages. By this time we have been without a kitchen sink, dishwasher and
drinking water. We have been buying gallon jugs of water, taking dishes to an outside sink and hand washing our dishes.
June st: We sent a text to Mr *** that we plan to file a complaint against him to the South Carolina Revdex.com. Because there was no response from him, Mrs *** called and informed
them, they said they have received previous complaints, and they would alert him but once again no response.
June 5-16: We sent multiple messages to him including calls from the manager of *** firm from
which he bought the sink. The manager their informed us he had spoken to him and Mr *** informed him that he would be getting in touch with us and resolve it, but he never did.
June 22nd: Mrs *** received a text "Can we meet?". Mrs *** replied asking him to contact her husband Dr ***. Dr *** then texted him and he agreed to come on Wednesday morning at 8 am. Dr ***
