My Maintenance Man Reviews (%countItem)

I took my 2005 *** to this repair facility to repair my air conditioner. The repair failed and they won't honor the warranty.
The major issue of this complaint is their failure to repair the air conditioning compressor on the 2005 ***. I took the vehicle to them on April 9, 2019 because the air conditioner was working better on the passenger side than it was on the driver's side. It was not making any unusual noises at this time. They examined at my vehicle and said that I had a freon leak from the air conditioning compressor. They suggested that I replace the air conditioning compressor. They informed me that this replacement would cost approximately $680. They suggested that I repair some additional air conditioning components in the future. They assured me that these components were not critical. They assured me that simply replacing the air conditioning compressor would work just fine. They assured me that the car would no longer leak freon once the air conditioning compressor was repaired.
I received my vehicle back after they replaced the air conditioning compressor. The vehicle did not sound right. It made the sound of a bad hose when I accelerated. The vehicle only made this sound when the air conditioner was on. The vehicle did not make this sound when I turned off the air conditioner. I took the vehicle back to them within a few weeks and informed Rachell about the noise. One of the mechanics test-drove the vehicle. Rachell told me that they could not hear the noise. I received the vehicle back from this shop. The vehicle still made the noise. I looked at the vehicle in the parking lot. It was leaking more fluid than it did before I took the vehicle to My Maintenance Man. I thought that my vehicle had developed an engine oil leak. I later learned from my shop in *** that this leak was a freon. My Maintenance Man made the car leak freon worse than it did previously.
The air conditioner in the *** started to have problems again on August 23. The driver side air conditioning no longer had cold air. The vehicle had the same problem as it did when I initially brought it to My Maintenance Man. I became doubtful regarding the competence and honesty of the mechanics at My Maintenance Man. They were clearly having trouble repairing my car air conditioner. I decided to take my *** to my repair shop in ***. The air conditioning compressor in the *** finally made an explosion noise and blew up while I was on my way to the repair facility in ***. The air conditioning stopped working instantly. The repair facility in *** told me the hoses were bad and that My Maintenance Man installed a defective air conditioning compressor. I have attached photographs showing that the compressor was defective. They said that it should be covered under warranty by My Maintenance Man.
It was obvious to me that My Maintenance man broke the air conditioning hoses and installed a defective air conditioning compressor. I called My Maintenance Man on the phone on August 31, 2019 about this issue. I informed them that they installed a defective air conditioning compressor and that they broke the refrigerant hoses. Rachell refused to honor the warranty or have the refrigerant hoses repaired. She said that I should have brought the vehicle back within 90 days. She said that I should have installed the additional components if I wanted a one-year warranty. She assured me that she would at least get me a partial refund. She never told me previously that I needed to install the additional components to receive the one-year warranty. Rachell failed to mention that I brought the vehicle back within the 90-day warranty period requesting them to check that the air conditioning compressor was working properly. The repair facility in *** repaired both the air conditioning compressor and the air conditioning refrigerant hoses. They also said that the compressor explosion did not have anything to do with bad hoses or connections. I have attached a more thorough letter of complaint.

Desired Outcome

I am asking that My Maintenance Man refund me $681.54 for their defective repair. I will file a small claims action against My Maintenance Man by December 18, 2019 if My Maintenance Man does not refund the money. I will present evidence of the defective air conditioning compressor as well as the receipts from their defective repair and the repair the other shop made to correct their defective repair. I have already posted a negative *** review showing the blown compressor. If I receive my refund, then I will move on and no longer do business with My Maintenance Man.

My Maintenance Man Response • Jan 01, 2020

We have spoken to this customer several times since his complaint and he refuses to accept his own decision error that we had told him was going to happen if not allowing the work to be done as manufacturers recommend. Prior to the work being performed on his vehicle, we explained in detail the AC system parts and work that were required to do the work thoroughly and as the manufacturer recommends in order to carry a full warranty and that would keep the system from failing prematurely. We explained specifically that within months the system problems would cause the AC compressor to fail and our shop nor the compressor manufacturer would cover the work or parts under warranty.

Again, before any work was performed it was explained in detail more than once to the customer what was likely to happen if he only allowed us to fix the AC Compressor and not the entire systems issues. After a few months the equipment failed, as we had warned him of, and the customer now feels he should be allowed to ignore what was repeatedly explained to him and seek a refund while doing all he can to disparage a company name and the names of individuals in the company.
How the company worked with the customer from start to now have been respectful and professional regardless of the ridiculous false claims and disparaging statements.

Customer Response • Jan 09, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
My Maintenance Man's response is entirely unsatisfactory and unacceptable. This issue is not resolved. My Maintenance Man is a terrible repair shop. This shop has the worst customer service of any car repair facility that I have ever dealt with. Their defamatory and incompetent response only confirms my decision to report them to the Nevada DMV Compliance Enforcement Division, file a complaint to the Nevada Attorney General, and file a complaint with you. Their response contains statements that are full of lies and dishonesty. Their statements about me are false and ridiculous. Their statements constitute defamation of character against me. They are contradicted by the evidence that I have obtained. They lied about reaching out to me. They behaved exactly the opposite of what they allege. I called them and texted them several times attempting to resolve this matter. They never responded to my phone calls or my texts which directly contradicts their false statements about attempting to communicate with me. I sent them a professional letter return receipt requested which requested a refund on the unsatisfactory repairs that they performed. They refused to sign for this letter. They never read the letter nor responded to this letter which demonstrates a lack of regard for me as a customer. This blatant act of defiance demonstrated that they were unwilling to resolve the issues. I was reasonable and professional in each correspondence with My Maintenance Man despite their hostile and despicable treatment towards me. I have the text conversation and the call logs as well as the letter marked undeliverable to prove my repeated communication attempts with this repair facility.

I took the *** to them because the air conditioner was not working on the driver's side. They told me that it was because it had a freon leak. I asked them about what was needed to be done to repair the freon leak. They assured me that a new air conditioning compressor would fix the freon leak. They said I could either just repair the air conditioning compressor, repair some additional components to the air conditioning compressor, or simply recharge the air conditioning system. I asked if repairing the other components was necessary to repair the freon leak. They explained to me that these additional air conditioning components were not necessary to repair the freon leak. They said the other components would just make the system work a little better and that they were not necessary at that time.

The air conditioner never sounded right after the repair. I heard my car make a hose noise when it accelerated. I realized that the driver's side air conditioner was slightly warmer than the passenger side at this point. I realized after driving my car for a while that the hose noise only occurred when the air conditioner was on. I took the vehicle back to them at this point which was within the 90-day warranty period. They only briefly looked at it and denied that anything was wrong with it. The air conditioner blew up a short time later. I did not take it back to My Maintenance Man because they told me they would not honor any warranty even though I brought it back to them within 90 days. I had my repair shop fix it in *** instead. The repair shop in *** told me that the compressor My Maintenance Man installed was defective. They told me that the compressor blew up from the inside. They told me that the compressor would have still blown up even if I had the extra components installed.

I also want to file another complaint against My Maintenance Man for the improper work they performed on my 1991 ***. The air conditioner on the *** stopped working shortly after I had the *** air conditioner repaired. I was not yet aware of the unsatisfactory repairs performed on the *** at this time. They failed to repair the air conditioner on my vehicle.

The major issue of this complaint involves the air conditioner on my 1991 ***. The air conditioner stopped working on this vehicle. I took this vehicle to My Maintenance Man on April 23, 2019 to have its air conditioner repaired. They told me that the problem was that the car had a bad air conditioning switch and another bad air conditioning pressure switch. They charged me $411.26 to have two air conditioning switches fixed. The air conditioner only worked for approximately three (3) months before it failed again. I took the vehicle back to My Maintenance Man requesting that they check the air conditioning system again. I had the expectation that they would make the repair right. They now told me I had a freon leak. They did not previously inform me that I had a freon leak. They told me to leave the vehicle at the shop. They never called me for two weeks. I finally went over to the shop. My vehicle was just sitting in the parking lot in front of their shop. I talked to them about the *** to see if they repaired the vehicle. They responded that either it was leaking freon or it was a bad wire. They warned me that they might not know how to repair the vehicle. It was obvious to me that they were not serious about repairing the vehicle. I let them keep the vehicle while they still tried to determine why the air conditioner was not working.

I called My Maintenance Man on the phone on August 31, 2019 about the status of the ***. I sent them a text in addition to the phone call about the ***. They never returned my phone call or my text message. It was obvious to me that they were unwilling to repair the vehicle. I decided that I should go ahead and pick up the *** from the repair shop since they were unwilling to repair it. They were not in the office when I arrived to pick up the ***. A mechanic gave me the keys to the ***. No one told me what was wrong with the car. They never repaired the air conditioner on the ***.

I expect to be treated with respect. I expect the repairs to be done right. I expect a repair facility to make the repairs right if they perform the repairs incorrectly. Their conduct towards me was unprofessional and unacceptable. I took my car to My Maintenance Man to have the air conditioner repaired. The *** air conditioning system still did not work even though I paid them money to fix the air conditioning problem. They never offered a refund for their failure to repair the vehicle. My Maintenance Man has demonstrated incompetence and a blatant disregard for me as a customer. They had the audacity to ignore my phone calls and texts as well as avoid me in the repair shop office. This is poor customer service.

My Maintenance Man refuses to accept their own errors on the unsatisfactory repairs they performed on my vehicles. My Maintenance Man refuses to admit that they performed bad repair work. My Maintenance Man never fixed either repair they performed incorrectly. They never offered me a refund for the unsatisfactory repairs performed on either vehicle. My Maintenance Man screwed up every repair they made on both of my vehicles. My Maintenance Man never performed a single repair correctly on either of my vehicles. They screwed up the *** air conditioning compressor even though it was the very first time I ever took a vehicle to My Maintenance Man. My Maintenance Man has made ridiculous false claims and defamatory statements about me.

My Maintenance Man needs to be reminded that I am the customer. They need to be reminded that I reserve the right to file a complaint against them and write a bad review on *** about them. They may not like my statements about them. However, that is too bad. Every statement I have made about My Maintenance Man and its employees have been correct and accurate. I defend every statement that I have made about My Maintenance Man and its employees. I put the picture of the defective air conditioning compressor on *** as evidence of the defective repair work. I have discussed my complaint with the Nevada DMV Compliance Enforcement Division. They have never told me that any of my statements were false. In fact, they acted sympathetic over the fact that My Maintenance Man performed unsuccessful repairs on both of my vehicles.

My Maintenance Man needs to accept that they performed unsuccessful repairs on my vehicles. They need to accept responsibility for their unsatisfactory work performance. They need to accept the consequences of performing improper repair work. I will never trust My Maintenance Man again. My relationship with My Maintenance Man is terminated permanently due to their incompetence and deportment. They are never allowed to perform repair work on any of my vehicles again. I will never return to My Maintenance Man for business. I am right and My Maintenance Man is wrong.
