To whom it may concern.

I B[redacted] owner of My Mechanic/ Off Road Werkz personally talked to the customer. He had lifted his Chevy Express Van with bigger springs and Modified spindle assemblies. He called me and was told by another shop that installing upper control arms from a 2500 series van would fix his Camber alignment issues. He also said that they would not install them. He asked if I would install them and ream out the spindle to accommodate the bigger control arms and Ball Joints. He then brought me the vehicle and Upper control arms to install. It was written very clearly on the repair order that the customer supplied the parts and there was no warranty. I performed only the work that the customer requested. Also, on the repair order it was documented that the customer would do the tire change and alignment after the job was performed.

All I can say at this point is that I am surprised that he has filed a complaint when all of the liability is in his control. He has not contacted me in any way.

I am willing to look at the vehicle. I am not refunding money at this time because services were performed per customer request.

If there are any questions. Please feel free to contact me. ###-###-####. I am not at the shop all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays because I have dialysis treatments.

I am rejecting this response because: It is true that my van has a lift kit on the front suspension. I was up front about that I had told the shop owner B[redacted] I had a problem with alignment it is true another mechanic said to replace the upper control arms with longer ones. However the whole point in taking my van to My Mechanic/ Off Road Werkz was not because another shop wouldn't do the work, the reason was because My Mechanic/ Off Road Werkz claims to be offroad and lift kit experts so I thought they would be the best in advising me as well as doing the job. I asked B[redacted] the owner of the shop if replacing the upper control arms with the longer ones would work he looked at upper control arms that I had purchased and he confirmed "yes" it would work we do this all the time. B[redacted] the owner convinced me it would work. I was relying on B[redacted] the owner of My Mechanic/ Off Road Werkz on his expertise. I would not have spent $517.00 on a job without getting the advice and confirmation of an expert which I thought B[redacted] was.

Review: I purchased a used rock crawler (2002 jeep wrangler with custom 4 link suspension on the rear axle and 3 link suspension on the front axle) and spoke with Brett, the owner of Off Road Works, about it numerous times before ever bringing it to his shop. Brett assured me that he could perform the work needed to fix the few things I needed done. I brought my jeep in to replace the transmission mount, the transfer case mount, fix a rear axle seal, and make a transmission skid plate. I was quoted between $500 and $1000 dollars for everything before I brought in my jeep. I was told the skid plate would be made from 1/4" steel and be mounted with sunken bolts so they would not catch on rocks. I agreed to have the work performed. When I got my jeep home I measured the thickness of the skid plate and it was 3/16" steel, mounted with 4 regular bolts and not cut to fit the existing mount like I requested. I found the rear differential leaking oil that seems to thin to be gear oil, the transfer case mount was not tightend down ( I could untighten the bolt and nut by hand), and my rear brake line had been moved so it ran through my coil suspension. I will have to remove the skid plate to check the bolts to the transmission mount to see if they were tight. I found random grind marks all over the bottom of the vehicle which were left bare to rust. The majority of the work performed on my vehicle was not performed correctly or to the standards promissed. The brake line going through my coil suspension is a deadly accident waiting to happen. If I was to drive my jeep over a large enough speed bump or rock it would severe that brake line causing my brakes to fail.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $1005.77 which is the total cost of the invoice. I do not trust any of the work performed by Off Road Werks and will not take my vehicle there ever again. I now need to take my vehicle somewhere else to have all work performed by Off Road Werks inspected and fixed correctly.

I have responded by mail to The Better Buisiness Bureau of the Tri Counties by mail. You should have the large envelope by now. I tried to call but no one responded or called me back. I even sent a fax with my shop letterhead and no one responded or called me back. Please call me sometime today when you get this message.
