My Rulez Motorcycle Shop Reviews (6)

Motorcycle repairs have been completed and motorcycle has been returned to Mr [redacted] As [redacted] is not in Mr [redacted] 's name, no further information will be provided in response to this complaintBike was accepted and in good running order when it was ridden away from the shop with the understanding between all parties that if any problems arose within days that pertain to repairs we made, Mr [redacted] was to return to My Rulez with the motorcycle and we would inspect and take care of the problemIt was also understood and agreed upon that if motorcycle was worked on at home or any other shop, My Rulez warranty would be void and My Rulez would not be responsible for any bills incurred

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I would like to address several factors regarding our complaintand ***'s response:
First of all we were informed to pick the bike up on March **, at 6pmWhen we arrived *** told us that the bike was not together yet and *** was still working on it. It was taking awhile because the
battery was dead and they had to wait for delivery of a new battery and *** was putting the carburetors on the bikeWhen *** said " a phone call would be nice", *** screamed "I *** knew you were going to
go there!" and had *** come out and speak with us. We have been waiting for this bike to be ready for over a year, of course the battery on the bike would be dead, since the bike just sat there for over a yearEveryone knows that batteries need to be put on a Battery Tender monthly so they won't go bad, which apparently it wasn'tNot to mention that we just bought a new battery for this bike in 2012, so if they took care of the parts like *** stated they do, the battery wouldn't have been an issue. In addition *** states in her last response "There should be no damage to his bike in the way of marks and scratches as all the parts
for his bike were wrapped and placed in storage away from the shop work area..." If the parts were wrapped then the original carburetors they took off, should have also been wrapped, and they should have been clean and ready for assemblyBut as *** and *** both stated the carburetors were "dirty" and *** physically showed us dirt in the carburetors and that's why he changed them out with their carburetorIt is totally unethical for a mechanic to switch parts without getting explicit permission. As they were slapping the bike together to get it out to us, there is no way they could have inspected their workmanshipHow could they when the bike had a dead battery and no carburetor? Kinda hard to say a bike is repaired when it isn't put back together After it was pieced together, one of their mechanics rode it up and down the street about a hundred yards and set it was done. We were just glad to get the bike out of the shopOn the way home, about fifteen miles in, a filter "bob" fell off and hit ***'s foot so he pulled over to inspect and discovered that the oil is still leaking (original problem) and now a major gas leak was at the carburetor *** is correct in stating that we weren't sure we wanted to bring the bike back thereOur apprehension, is based on the fact that the bike has been there for over a year and the same problem exists. As well as two new problems, the leak in the carburetor and the air filter falling offAs the air filter just had to be tightened on correctly, not a difficult task. Incompetence seems apparent. Let me give you a brief account of the past year: We took the bike into the shop on Feb **,to get the oil leak repaired from the head, we left a $deposit
May *, we get an estimate for parts and head shop prices(we understand that finding parts for this bike are difficult)
On May *, they state that "they will make it a priority to finish the bike", as soon as they get cash for partsThis shop will not order any parts until they have CASH on hand, so we drop off $on May **, As they do not take credit cards and wanted us to pay through *** and we did not feel safe using *** because of this statement in ***'s e-mail "I also let *** know that when she goes to pay, on the send money page if she will use the send money to family or friends instead of the pay for goods and services button, that there should not be any fees involved." There was no way we were sending that much money as "family and friends"
We contact them again in July for a status, since the parts should have been in by then and work should have almost been completed*** informs us that they were in a motorcycle accident and going through
physical therapy, so they haven't worked on the bike
In September 2013, *** posts a message on their *** page, about maybe getting the bike back that month*** comments "provided we don't need anything he should have it done in a few days" "
they are working on it diligently" I have attached a screen shot of that post
In November 2013, all three of us drive out there, and we are ensured that the bike will be done prior to the new year, as their technician was arrested and they were short handed
On Jan **, we send them an e-mail and they call us back, as they will not correspond by writing anymore and we are informed the bike will be ready on January **,
Well of course that day passes, then they start calling ***, and informed him that a bolt broke off and they were hiring the "best technician" to get it out and it would be done in a few days.. Still no bike
Every time they gave us a completion date, it never happened*** gave us several completion dates via e-mail and even the attached *** comment is evidentSo for her to respond, "there was no designated time frame from the start", is ridiculous.. After they got the parts back in May 2013, the bike should have been ready sooner than months, and it still isn't ready, as same issues persist
March *, we send a complaint letter to the Revdex.com and long and behold the bike was readyThen it's not, then it is (again dates being pushed back) with this much work and time in the shop, we assumed the bike would be running like a gem...
We finally get the go ahead of a pick up on March **,1014 at 6pm and the bike is not ready and the problems still exist.
We have sent e-mails, have made numerous phone calls (cell phone records) in regards to expedite the completion of this bikeThey have given us a countless number of completion dates that just have passed in the wind. This is ridiculous that we are in a worse situation than we started when we dropped this bike off on February **,
They kept saying "they had issues"; unfortunately an accident, loss of man power, and incompetence is not our problemIf they couldn't get it fixed they should have notified us months ago and we would have picked it upInstead it was always "next week, next Wednesday, it's almost done"When you own a business you figure out how to run it and not jerk your customers around
As for the threats of suing the ***s, they threatened to sue *** ***. When *** went to get his original carburetor back, *** told him that he would take him for everything he owned, that
they have the best lawyer in Texas, and to get everything out of his name as they would take it, if we, his parents pursued legal actionKinda funny threatening a college kid who just wants to ride his
motorcycleWe never made any comment or insinuated on legal action, only sent a complaint through the Revdex.com. We strongly feel if we did not contact the Revdex.com, we still wouldn't have the bike in our possession
This back and forth with My Rules only shows the lack of customer service and lack of professionalism that they follow. In addition, *** admits to "using foul language towards us" so what customer would do business with this shop? Are we supposed to assume that they will fix the problems after being foul with us? This is a motorcycle; only two wheels, we can't afford to get on a mechanically questionable bike and feel confident. The Length of time, shoddy results, incompetence, hostile behavior towards its customers, and poor buiness practices all speak volumes to consumers. There is no need for My Rulez to respond, as we are done with this forumWe have documents pertaining to all of our complaints in this manner of debate
If you are a consumer and looking for a mechanic, Need I say more?
Regards,
*** ***, *** ***, *** ***

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
[redacted](my name) is on
several receipts for work & deposits in regards to this
motorcycle{[redacted]}. Correspondence pertaining to this
motorcycle & myself has transpired between My Rulez MC shop
through out the year. Also My Rulez had NO issues taking my $617 Cash
(Only form of payment accepted) to release the motorcycle to me.
This is a family bike and my name, his mother's, and
[redacted]'s have all been on several deposit and labor receipts.
At time of pick up, the [redacted] was still being worked on.
[redacted] indicated the Carburetors on the motorcycle were dirty, {as bike sat in "storage" for over a year}
and he stated that the carburetor was not jetted correctly. When I questioned him
about the carburetor, because THEY previously re-jetted the carburetor,
(this shouldn't be an issue), they denied doing the work and said that
they just "cleaned" the carburetor and did not re-jet it.. We have a
receipt dated 10/**/2012 showing completion of a Stage 3 Dyno-jet and
Carburetor Rebuild and labor for Jetting Carburetor and cleaning.
If proper care was given to this motorcycle "dirty carbs" wouldn't been an issue.
In addition, if the carburetors were dirty they should have been cleaned prior to scheduled pick up.
They had over a year to fix the motorcycle and to make it right.
So as we waited in the parking lot, [redacted] switched out
the original Carburetor with another set that he had in the shop, that was
"clean" in order to get the bike running and out of the shop.
When the Motorcycle was ridden away, it appeared to run rough.
I chose to leave though, as [redacted] yelled at me with foul and abusive language because
I only asked why didn't they call in regards to the motorcycle not being ready.
More than halfway home one of the air-filter "[redacted]" fell off. When I pulled over to inspect, I
noticed Oil leaking from engine head at Exactly the same place where it was
leaking originally, which was the initial repair. I also noticed now gas leaking from the carburetor. I
called My Rulez and spoke to [redacted]. He asked for the bike to return to My Rulez, but I
was closer to home than the shop and did not feel Safe riding back to
the shop with an oil and gas leak. He gave no offer to pick the motorcycle up.
When we got home and inspected the bike more thoroughly, we noticed multiple scratches on the front fender.
Obviously no care was given to our motorcycle. Also,  [redacted] stated that
his Original Carburetor was polished and that he wanted it back since he paid $440.00 to get it re-jetted and
cleaned previously. He called the next morning and spoke to [redacted] and they agreed
that he could get his carburetor back.  We received the original carburetor from [redacted] the next day.
He exchanged the Jets from
the replacement carburetor back to the original.
At home, upon inspection the carburetor needed to be cleaned. While cleaning the carburetor
ourselves we noticed that parts were missing from it. This is unacceptable.
My Rulez informed us that because we took the carburetors off ourselves,
warranty work would be voided. I do not feel confident that they would or could
in fact honor the warranty repair with quality workmanship.
We are not prepared to leave the motorcycle at My Rulez again for an indefinite period of time. Who would?
My Lawyer has informed us that the excessive length(13 months & 1day)
of initial repair, their lack of communication, multiple completion dates given, unruly behavior,
personal threats and foul language throughout the year warranted not returning the motorcycle back to My Rulez MC shop.
[redacted] even threatened to sue and take everything "we" had, if we pursued our complaint in court.
We are requesting a refund of $1050.00; $610.00 for labor work on engine and
labor charge of $440.00 for the original carburetor work. Original
work order to repair oil leak was not completed; therefore,
services were not rendered. Parts are also missing from the original carburetor
which now needs a new rebuild.
Regards
[redacted].

Where to begin... I wish I had given these reviews more credence but I was having a hard time finding a company who would work on my motorcycle since it is older. The people who are giving this company 5 star ratings must either be friends of the company or they just got lucky. Contacting the company has proven to be absurdly difficult. Emails and phone calls are ignored and then returned at odd hours a week or more later. I was repeatedly told in the first month that my motorcycle was being worked on but after a month and a half they were just beginning to tell me about troubles they should have noticed on day one had they actually been performing any work (i.e. they were unable to get one of the carbs off, which is something that should have been apparent much sooner than a month and a half into cleaning the carbs...).
It never crossed my mind for a moment that a simple carb cleaning would take more than 2 months so I figured I was safe to put my bike in a shop even though I would be leaving for CO at the end of the summer. After a month and half, when the company was just barely emailing me about the carbs, I asked them to simply pack my motorcycle back up and stop working on it because I didn't want to risk having to leave my motorcycle in San Antonio due to their astounding incompetence. I was assured that my motorcycle would be ready for pick up the Monday following my request, 10 Aug 2015. Given this information I had a friend ready to help me pick up the motorcycle since I didn't have a vehicle myself that could do this and was really hoping to avoid paying for yet another tow. Come Monday the shop pulled it's now all too familiar habit of ceasing all communication. I was hardly shocked that they once again failed to deliver on a promise.
After missing my opportunity to pick up my motorcycle due to their seemingly boundless incompetence I could no longer to push off the trek back to CO. Now I was forced to pay for another tow and to find somebody 900 miles away willing to let my STILL BROKEN motorcycle sit in their backyard. To top it off the company added an ignorance of technology and appreciation for customers to their list when they refused to accept anything but cash for the pick up. So now I had to wire the money down to Texas and was promptly berated by Kellie when I suggested it was absurd that a company only deal with cash in 2015 (probably the quickest response I received from the company in 2 damn months).
Long story short, this is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I wouldn't recommend a friend go to them for vehicle work if it was free. Either their mechanics are astoundingly bad at their job or they are in the habit of taking on way more work than they can feasibly handle and letting the customers suffer for it. The idea that a carb cleaning should take more than a week tops, much not even partially completed in 2 entire months, is baffling. In my honest opinion, I don't believe I should pay them a dime for basically babysitting my motorcycle for the best part of the riding season, insulting me or ignoring me nearly every week and lying about their capabilities to fix my motorcycle, or even begin to fix it, in a timely manner. If you go to this company for work, may God help you because they sure as hell won't.

Mr [redacted] was informed that his carbs were dirty and rather than make him wait for his to be cleaned we switched them with an identical set that was clean. Upon returning the original carbs, they were not missing
parts when they left the shop. My Rulez did not deny re jetting cards, it was simply stated that I could not remember what all we did to the carbs without checking my file. When we put the clean set of carbs on
the bike the jet kit was switched to the replacement set, and when we gave the original carbs back to Mr. [redacted] the jets and parts were put back into his carbs so he has his carbs back with all the re jet parts
that he paid for. There should be no damage to his bike in the way of marks or scratches as all the parts for his bike were wrapped and placed in storage away from the shop work area so that no damage would occur. Bike was cleaned and inspected and a new battery was installed at the shops expense before release and no damage was noted at that time. As far as picking up bike, Mr. [redacted] did not ask us to pick bike up and was not even sure he wanted to bring the bike back to My Rulez. As far as time frame, there was no designated time frame from the start, and I  did not call the [redacted]s every week to let them know of progress, but I did call them when I had updates. Most calls were made to Mr. [redacted] as his name and number are on the **. The statement was not made that My Rulez was going to try to sue the [redacted]s, nothing of the sort was said. As far as yelling and foul language, I did not yell, yes I said a foul word or two but that was due to the attitude and snide comments made by Mr. [redacted] upon entering the shop. As far as Mr. [redacted]'s comment that work was not completed, that is incorrect. The **'s are complete and all work stated was performed. No refunds are due as all work was performed. The [redacted]s were given the option to have us complete any warranty work, but have chosen to do their own work which as previously stated voids all warranties. Had the [redacted]s had a time frame in mind when they first brought us the bike that should have been stated up front.

Motorcycle repairs have been completed and motorcycle has been returned to Mr. [redacted]. As ** is not in Mr. [redacted]'s name, no further information will be provided in response to this complaint. Bike was accepted and in good running order when it was ridden away from the shop with the understanding...

between all parties that if any problems arose within 45 days that pertain to repairs we made, Mr. [redacted] was to return to My Rulez with the motorcycle and we would inspect and take care of the problem. It was also understood and agreed upon that if motorcycle was worked on at home or any other shop, My Rulez warranty would be void and My Rulez would not be responsible for any bills incurred.
