My Simple Connections helped me out when I was in a bind. They are very helpful and I would recommend them to anyone.

my Simple Connection was very helpful in setting up our utilities when we moved this summer! Very friendly staff and fast service.

My Simple Connection is a utility concierge service that claims to give unbiased recommendations on energy providers when someone is moving locations.

When I moved to the ***, I used My Simple Connection to get setup with a new energy company. Despite telling them that I was happy with my current company (Reliant Energy) they convinced me to switch to Ambit energy and promised that my rate would not go above $0.07. They sent over the pricing tier based on energy use, but it was not explained accurately. They did not explain that the tiering structure was stacked and sold it as "If you use between 501-1,000 kw/month, your rate will be $0.048" which is not true.

On top of that, the Oncor charge on my bill is accounts for 25% of the entire amount, totaling $50. I have used other energy providers in Texas previously and the Oncor charge never exceeded $22.

After reviewing Mr. complaint we have reviewed all the information that was given to him and pulled our recordings of the call. Mr. was given various opportunities to understand the term of his contract, if it was not explained correctly by our representative he still has to call Ambit Energy Third Party Verification to activate his service, during this call the terms are reviewed to him which he completed. If during the Third Party Verification process he still was not cleared of the terms of the contract he received an email from us with his account confirmation where we also attached the term of the contract and the rates. If that was not enough, he also received an email from Ambit Energy where he had the opportunity to review the term of his contract. He had 3 days to cancel his contract after we connected him, 60 days to change his plan if his usage was higher than estimated, which he received his first bill but did not have an issue until his second bill arrived. We tried to tell him that we are more than happy to change his plan to better fit his high usage, but he refused to let us explain that to him. As for his Oncor charges, that is a delivery charge that we have no control over. As Oncor increases and decreases their rates throughout the year, and it has nothing to do with the provider but it is solely based on his usage. I am attaching the recording of our initial call, and the email he received from us upon completion of this Third Party Verification. Please review them and you will see that he had plenty of time to address any issues with the rates and plenty of time to cancel his service or change plans.
