Hoosier Exteriors was hired as the roofingcontractor for the property located at *** *** *** ** *** **
*** on 7-23-We were hired to do a roof repair in the form of a layover.This layover was to be a layer of dimensional shingles on top of existingdimensional shinglesThe
agreed price was $and this was to include allthe materials and labor as well as necessary step flashing if there was somemissing and new pipe bootsMr*** *** met me at the property, looked overthe contract both front and back and signed it declaring Hoosier Exteriors asthe contractor for the jobMr *** called me after all the material wasdelivered and work had begun to ask if I would install drip edge as wellIexplained how this is very difficult to install without removing the shinglesbut I would do my bestI did this at no additional charge to himThe job wascompleted within a few days of signing, and as stated in the contract, the jobwas to be paid in full by August To this day there still has been no paymentof any kind made to Hoosier Exteriors for this jobUpon completion of the jobMr*** noticed a few "nail pops" in the roof where the nail wasnot driven flush to the shingleThis is common in layover especially when oneis installing a dimensional over another dimensional due to the varyingthickness of the shinglesI agreed to meet him out there and fix the issueWemet the next day and there were some nail pops that he pointed out to me, andthen leftI stayed and I drove them in, and sealed themI let him know it wascompleted and he wanted to look at it before he paid meI agreedHe text me acouple days later and said there were still a few nail pops he could see fromthe groundAgain I went back out there promptly to fix the issueThis time healso asked me to create a rain diverter with step flashing while I was outthereI did this again at no additional charge to himI sealed up a couplemore areas and double-checked for any additional nail pops before leaving.Again, he wanted to see the roof before paying and I agreed because I always wantmy customers to be happyHe stated he would go out to look at in the next fewdays and drop payment in the mailSeveral days later I reached out again toMr*** and he stated he still saw a couple nail pops and refused to pay forthe work doneAt this point it has been weeks since the work was completedand I wanted to meet him at the property to point out what he saw and told himI would fix anything he pointed outHe then refused to meet me out thereanymoreI have been and still am open to meeting him to fix any issues thereare, however I feel that Mr*** never had any intention on paying for thisserviceI reached out yet again to Mr*** on Sept 3rd (more thandays after payment was due) to try to collect paymentAfter refusing tomeet me at the property or make a payment I notified him that if I had notreceived payment within days I would be filing to put a lien on theproperty, or filing a civil suit against him personally to collect the debt.Now that the time frame is closing in he files a complaint against meThiscomplaint has no meritThe work done was good, I have been more than happy toaccommodate him by going out there additional times and even installed dripedge and a rain diverter for free (450dollar value)I am still willing to meethim at the property if necessaryBut one thing I refuse to do is give this mana free roof
