Myers Bros Florist

Review: On February 20, 2014 I called Myers Bros. Florist in Altoona, Pa. to order flowers for our brother who passed away on Feb. 19. We were flying to Pa. on Feb. 21 and I knew I wouldn't have time once we arrived there to place an order. I first spoke with a female who gave me the impression that she wasn't properly trained to do the job. She was not very helpful and not friendly. When it came time to calculate my order, she kept making mistakes. I told her she was overcharging me and she had to recalculate it at least three times until she got the correct amount. After hanging up, I wasn't comfortable with this florist and the service so I called a family member. I was told flowers had been ordered at another florist so I immediately called to cancel my order. I called them within five minutes of placing the original order and another person answered the phone. She was rude and had an abrasive attitude. I told her I wished to cancel my order and she told me that I could NOT as she had just ran my credit card through her machine. I told her she could void it out and she said NO she couldn't. She said the bank would charge her for two transactions and she would have to penalize me. I told her that wasn't fair as the bank wouldn't be charging her until she settled her machine out at the end of the day. She was again very rude with a terrible attitude. I checked with my credit card co and she did service charge me almost $10.00 for a cancelled order. She had also informed me that if I had ordered the flowers any later, they probably would not have been delivered in time as they closed at noon on Saturdays and make no exceptions for deliveries. I found this attitude and her customer service very unacceptable. After we arrived in Altoona, I had asked other residents there if they had any experience with this florist and they said yes and they were very unhappy with their quality of flower arrangements and also their customer service. I'll never use them again.Desired Settlement: I would like my credit card account credited back with the penalty amount they charged to me. What they did is unethical and she lied as the banks do NOT charge businesses for any transactions before end of day settlement. If she had voided this transaction when I asked her to, it would have been null and void to both of us. I would also like an apology from them in writing.
