FROM THE INSTRUCTOR: On Saturday, June 4, I arrived at Myers Driving School, [redacted] location at 7:15 a.m.I ran my Class Roster and noted 25 students had signed up to attend this class. The firstand subsequent first 5 students were signed in by 7:45. Noting that 20 students had notyet arrived I...

waited to see if more were coming. By 7:50, 14 students were seated when[redacted] and [redacted] arrived and the last student allowed in [redacted] B.Total class number 17.The first topic of class was the Class Rules which included that anyone not returning on time,after break or lunch, would not be allowed back in class. Our break was at 9:30 with return timeat 9:45. We were starting to come back in when [redacted] said to [redacted], “Come on I will introduceyou” and they went down the sidewalk toward [redacted] Ave. When I called attendance shehadreturned by not another student or her husband. The bottom line is after a lot of confusion andwho went to get who….the [redacted]’s had not returned by 10:00. I started class again and lookedat the clock at 10:10 and locked the front door.Shortly after that there was loud banging on the front door. I was in the middle of lecture so IIgnored it. As the banging on the glass door continued, I took [redacted]’s bag that was by his deskandwent to the the door. Through the door I told him to stop banging on the glass, opened thedoorenough to put the bag on the sidewalk, told him they could not return to class, closed andlockedthe door and returned to the class.Then [redacted] began banging on the door again, again, and again. When I was almost to the doorhePunched the front plate glass window with his fist. I yelled “Stop that or I will call the police”.Hisresponse was “go ahead.” He drew his fist back again to hit the door when [redacted] yelled athim to stop. I went back to class.At the end of each class the students are asked to complete an evaluation of the school and theinstructor. Below are comments written on the students evaluations regarding this incidentand my conduct:? There were two disrespectful students that didn’t obey times on breaks and theInstructor handled the situation very professionally.? That guy shouldn’t be allowed back.? Great school, even better instructor.? Mrs. K is a very good instructor, even though we had a major interruption thatwas very disrespectful to her.? Mrs. K was excellent and professional, regardless of the rude behavior of 2individuals who were threatening her.? Great instructor? Instructor was very knowledgeable. Thank you for a good day, class was pleasant &went very fast. Sorry about rude and immature people.? Mrs. Ann was a very well rounded teacher and very patient when two students rudelyinterrupted her. They were so late in coming back from break she asked them to leave.They continued to pound on windows and holler at her. She was a very nice, calmperson about it. I would have called the police.? Couple in class were rude & obnoxious and had to be removed from class. Instructorhandled the situation with aplomb.In conclusion, although I think I handled the situation professionally, in hindsight I am sorry I didnot call the police. If I am confronted with the same type of situation again, I will not hesitateto do so.IN CONCLUSION: We have provided the ADULT Remedial Course to thousands and thousands of students. Most students take responsibility for themselves and the reasons they are taking the course, and view this as a new beginning. Very rarely, we have students come back late from break (usually lunch), and they are not able to finish the course, because they did not return on time. That is WHY it is one of the first topics we cover in the written signed agreement. In this case, we can not give Mr [redacted] , based on his violent and disrespectful behavior, a second chance. As the agreement they signed said... there are NO REFUNDS.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.You can refuse service to anyone, you can not steal their hard earned money.  I will be escalating this to the attorney general if there is not a prompt refund.  As an accounting firm owner, I am very aware what is and is not acceptable.  The instructor was an older lady who rather resented that I was willing to pay for my young wife just to be there to keep me company.  She also made comments about my vehicle being flashy.  She was against me from the beginning.  The bottom line is she coaxed us both into leaving the room so she could lock the door.  This is fine, we will not require service.  We will however get a full refund plus applicable interest.
