Review: I went into the store today, trying to exchange a gift my gf had gotten, I had no receipt, no clue where it was bought at, but I knew they sold the woman's [redacted] jackets...instead of telling me this was against the policy to exchange without a receipt (Which I asked to see, and was never shown till I found it covered by some other papers.) I was told "nope you didn't buy it here". Which I had already admitted to since it was a gift, I asked to speak to the manager because I wanted to simply exchange a brand new item for one of a different size, he came and said you didn't buy it here, Later on when I found the policy covered I commented that it should not be covered, your associate told me, sarcastically. "Thanks I will keep that under advisement". Once I stated I would call the Revdex.com, she reached over and grabbed it and told me to kiss her [redacted] I then asked for the owners number, or who to call for complaints she said the owner has no phone, and I complained to her and a gentleman she claimed was the manager and that was all I could do , I then asked again and she said she was the owner, I already contacted [redacted] and they were appalled that one of the retailers they do business with would do this, and are assisting me with the exchange and now I am contacting the Revdex.com,, I sent the store an email, but honestly I don't trust this to go past the women who told me , I could kiss her [redacted] but I am trying, because this is insanely poor customer service I was going to get a pair of boots from them but never again will I step foot in that store, I work in retail as a front end manager, I really just am shocked, this happened 12/11/13, the male wasn't very helpful or kind but did nothing wrong, he also did nothing right, the woman was the worse employee of any company I have ever experienced and honestly it sounded to me like she prides herself with this, thanks for your consideration, I would like a response if that is possible, I cannot believe she told a customer to kiss her [redacted] I also asked for the [redacted] rep number and they refused to give it to me, and said that was personal information.

Sent from my [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like an apology from the company and a guarantee that this sort of behavior will not be tolerated, and to know that this employee has been reprimanded

Response:

On Wednesday, December 11,2013, a gentleman came to the counter at Myrna's Boots 'n Bits and put two jackets on the counter. He said he wanted to exchange the lite blue jacket for a purple one. I asked him for his receipt. He said the jacket was a gift. I checked the jacket for a Myrna's Boots 'n Bits price tag- there was none. I told him I would need the receipt. To be helpful, I checked our computerized inventory- that particular jacket had not been sold at Myrna's Boots 'n Bits. I then told him that the jacket did not come from Myrna's Boots 'n Bits.

On occasion, customers have wanted to exchange an item without their receipt. I check the computerized inventory for the date sold and quantity of the particular item in stock. When the customer can tell me the date they purchased the item and the date coincides with the computer date, of course, I will exchange the item. I checked the date and quantity of this particular jacket, then I checked the physical inventory. That size, style, and color was still in the inventory; therefore, I KNEW that jacket had not been purchased at Myrna's Boots 'n Bits.

The customer held up the [redacted] tag and said "here's the tag." I told him I needed the Myrna's Boots 'n Bits price tag. I explained that the [redacted] tag was not the Myrna's Boots 'n Bits price tag. He told me that "this is a [redacted] store- therefore, you need to exchange it." I told him I cannot not do that. He asked for the manager. I got the manager from the boot department.

I remained in boots to assist other customers. The manager was gone longer than I thought necessary. I went to the manager to see if I could be of assistance. The gentleman was demanding the phone number for the [redacted] sales rep. The manager said he was not allowed to give that number out. The gentleman then asked for the [redacted] phone number. The manager told the gentleman that "it can be found on the internet- he was not allowed to give that number out." The phone number we have is for retail stores only. I stepped up and asked the manager if he would go back to boots, I would handle the situation. Again, I repeated to the customer that the jacket was not purchased at Myrna's Boots 'n Bits; therefore, we could not exchange it.

I proceeded to wait on another customer at the other counter. The gentleman demanded our store policy- a copy of which is enclosed and has been on display since 01-04-2007 within 6" of the cash register. Our new Christmas hours were covering 1/4 of the exchange policy. The gentleman adamantly told me to remove the paper or her would call the Revdex.com. He had his phone in his hand during this whole situation. I removed the paper and said quietly "kiss my [redacted]." He asked me "what did you say?!" I repeated it. Then I continued to wait on the other customer. I apologized to the customer for my inappropriate speech and rung the customer up. The gentleman asked for customer services. I told him "you complained to the manager, you complained to me, now write a letter to the Revdex.com."

He asked for the owner's phone number. I told him they do not have a phone (which is true.) He asked when the owner would be in I told him Friday. Then I changed because I had no desire to deal with him again, and told him "I'm the owner." He looked at me and said "you're the owner??" He then left. If he had been less confrontational, I would have suggested other stores that carry ladies' [redacted].

I was taught to be respectful to my elder. This person was very disrespectful to me from the beginning of this situation. My mother told me one must stand up herself when being bullied. I felt he was trying to intimidate and bully me.

An apology is dues me for his disrespect; but I can live without and apology if he will NOT return to Myrna's Boots 'n Bits.

Thank you for your assistance in this situation.
