This letter is in response to a complaint lodged by *** ***, against Nassau Emergency Medicine, P.C., to the Revdex.com, regarding two Emergency Department visits on 2/*/and 5/*/The complaint involves billing and collection issues, and a disputed amount of $1,2**.09.Upon
reviewing the aforementioned complaint, and after discussions with ***, (The billing company that the Emergency Physicians use) it was concluded that *** *** had been misinformed by *** that the Emergency Physicians “participated” with his Health Insurance Plan*** *** had his health insurance through AETNA Insurance CompanyA Client Representative from *** incorrectly believed that Nassau Emergency Medicine “participated” with Aetna Insurance Company, This resulted in *** ***’s accounts being billed incorrectly and *** initially “wrote off” the balance dueSeveral days later when *** realized the error, they adjusted the balances to reflect the proper amounts owed and sent out the corrected statements to *** *** (on 3/**/for the date of service of 2/*/15, and on 7/**/for the date of service of 5/*/15)There was no responses from *** *** to the statements that were sent, or phone calls m ade, regarding the balances owed (from February and July of 2015) so the account was moved to Collections on October *, According to our Collection Company *** *** paid the balance owed of $1,2**on October *, 2015.On December ***, 2015, *** *** called *** and unfortunately was told by the *** representative that he did NOT owe the $12**and that he “would get a refund”The *** representative was wrong in this and on January **, *** *** was mailed an itemized statementOn the same day, he called the Collection Agency and *** stating that he did not owe the balance that he had remitted and that he wanted a refund.The amount that *** *** paid the Collection Company was his balance due for two separate ED Visits and when he paid that amount to the collection company his balance due became zeroHe was not ever entitled to a refund
