For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.When we first had the patch looked at by home inspection company, it was pointed out the many faults of the patchThe patch finished its cure became brittle and the stones have begun popping outIf this was an entire floor it would be cause for legal actionThe only time I ever baulked at his pricing was when he took the $originally quoted for a patch and told me this patch was different and would cost $I asked him why there was a difference and he became agitated and argumentativeTalking about his years experience and this is what it costsShould have known when you asked him to clear up some confusion how unreasonable *** *** became The reason this is significant,is because I told his project manager earlier that day that as long as the patch was below $he had my approval to begin work on a sampleHe said it was way more and that is when I got the $quoteWhen the work was finished I assume he saw how bad it was and decided to charge me what he said the sample would cost to produce $The $was a charge for a patch to a piece of damaged floor that I later found was going to be where the new wood floor was going so the first quoted patch was not needed.The rest of the floors have been re-worked by another companySince American Tile and Terrazzo used a hand grinder, the floors were found to be un-even and had waves in areas that spent too much time under the 7” grinderThe new company came back with a real grinding machine and re-leveled the floorsThe new company also took the sanding to grit and used a penetrating sealer that was later polish over leaving a gorgeous shine that looked like the pictures shown to American Tile and Terrazzo when they suggested their course of action to get me what I had asked"200grit and coats of Acrylic sealer" They gave me a quote based on my pictures on how to get me to where I wanted to beThey were not close and decided to do this terrible job insteadNo attention to detail and when confronted become irate and blame the customerThey did not do anything to try and help me with what I wantedWhen they first finished I asked why I did not get my High gloss shine? *** the owner reply was that it needed a few more coats of water based acrylic sealerBy design a water based surface sealer can not make a high gloss shine greater than (83) on the 60deg reflectivity meterThe only way is by using marble honing technics popular now with real Terrazzo resto companies. Finally, I paid him all but the filing fee for a formal complaintHis threats over the phone and how he was “going to do what he had to to get his money” and “i will not be happy with his approach” if I did not pay himHonestly, based on his action and responses when I became originally concerned about the poor qualityNow with his approach to this entire instance I would file a restraining order to keep him away from me and my family. As of now, in order to repair the damage to my floor, I have had to pay more than $to address the damage caused by American Tile and TerrazzoSince *** himself said that this was the best his company can do I would have to believe he should find something he is good at rather than making promises he can not keep and then threatening and attempting to intimidate people for paymentThe funny part of this is that in a $150,interior renovation project, I have worked with Demolition, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Roofing, Drywall, Tile, insulation, Kitchen, Alarm, Low voltage wiring, Networking and Flooring contractorsThe only company that has been a disappointment has been American Tile and TerrazzoIn-fact, the Tiling contractor installing one of bathrooms made a mistake on one shower and completely ripped out his mistake to make it rightBecause of that I agreed to buy the extra tile to help reward the tile guy for doing the right thingI gave him a bonus for Christmas because he did such a great job the second time aroundHe also came up with some great ideas to complete the master bath that were truly exceptional. Maybe I should put the Tile company and American Tile and Terrazzo together so *** could train himself and his people on customer service and the not so illusive concept of under promise over deliverBut if they understood more about the properties and chemistry around exothermic reactions perhaps the cement would have properly crystalized around the aggregateSloppy is Sloppy, it is a shame you blame me for your inability to do your job
